McHale's Navy couldn't afford a lot of money for actual battle scenes....there was a close-up of a Japanese fighter plane shooting its machine gun, and they used that over and over.
A truly wonderful series with Borgnine, Tim Conway, Joe Flynn, and their Japanese prisoner of war ("Fuji") who was like a mascot, even followed them to Europe when the storyline took them there. |
