I wanted KR do to the Chef Untitled Project too. Pity it didn't come through... As for the private eye novels... rumor goes he purchased the rights for the screen... so all is not lost yet.
Stompanato was a huge no in my book. For a bunch of reasons, one being Johnny's nickname. Also, not sure KR could play convincingly a character from the early 50s. Like Colin Farrell, KR seems to lack the 'feel' of that era.
I'm positive 47 Ronin will have beautiful images; and apparently it blends history and fantastic elements. Rinsch has an eye for great images. Did you see his comercials?
