Reuther was pro Stalin but a committed Socialist too, Walter & his brothers went over to Russia and worked in the Auto Factory in Russia during the Great Depression and wrote back how great Stalin's Social Experiment was working for the Russian people, until he called for a strike and seen how Stalin handled that which is when Walter Ruether decided to return back to the US and that is when Walter found out that Stalin was not promoting a society based on Communism but in sense a Plutocracy which lacks of political freedom & Democracy and is the Ideal condition for Capitalism to take hold. Besides that Academics & union officals traveled to Russia to visit Stalin & Trosky which would change their lives & help set the course of FDR's New Deal Social Programs.

Nixon Was at war too here in the US with the unions & organized labor too. I Still believe the purpose of his trip to china was to open the doors for furture relations & a cheap labor market to compete against the US workers and then Nixon & congress in 1969 created OPIC(Overseas Private Investment Corporation) which was established in 1969 and began operations in 1971 as a development agency to promote and assist U.S. business investment in developing nations. Today, OPIC is a U.S. government agency that provides project financing, investment insurance, and other services for U.S. businesses in over 150 developing nations and emerging economies. To date, OPIC has funded, guaranteed, or insured over $180 billion in investments. This agency has done really nothing but as being the engine of exporting US jobs overseas to countries like China starting the early 1970's by the Federal Government taking out the risk out of investing in forgien Countries. I believe Obama had it right when he tried to shutdown OPIC, but recieved obstruction from the Republicans. OPIC-supported projects must not have negative economic effects on U.S. employment and industry and must fulfill other statutory requirements which I believe it has and its been overlooked by the politicans for years.
