Whitney Houston, dead at 48, a crucial member of New Jersey's music scene

Full story: The Jersey Journal

Much is made of Michael Jackson's barrier-bursting music, but Whitney Houston's role in the desegregation of MTV was nearly as crucial.

Don't get your hopes up yet. It maybe more cruel vicious media rumor. They are always jumping for a story before they know the facts.

Whitney Houston was self destructive for years. What a surprise.

Like I said, Check out this story too, before jumping to conclusions. It's supposedly from ABC News, denying the death.

Yeah, good eye. I didn't catch the date on that report. Supposedly, she died in Los Angeles. Sad and tragic. It looks like Hollywood took another life.

Whitney should've dumped Bobby Brown.

Why is it anyone's fault that she was a trainwreck?

oh my God! My daughter just told me. I am 49 and have been worried about her for a long time. I did not realize we would lose her too soon. She has been through a lot more than we can even imagine. I hope she is at peace. She has been in my heart since I seen and heard her sing the song "I will always love you". Her voice is an inspiration and would send shivers down ones spine. I think she really knew what love was.

I'm not saying it was anyones fault. But, think about it. If Whitney Houston hadn't been a Hollywood celebrity, she probably never would have even met Bobby Brown.

Hollywood puts people on pedestals, and then knocks them off.
Its a roller coaster ride in the entertainment business and very few celebrities can handle it without medication or drugs. This includes Elvis Presley. You can get so depressed if one of your movies tank, or your second album bombs out.

The Hollywood parties with their free flowing drug use is another example. It's a drug dealers paradise. I've been to some myself. There is cocaine and drugs everywhere. And, I know some people get started that way. I was in a studio in the 80's and a musicians friend came in and poured cocaine all on the table. It almost trapped me. That musician ex-friend actually die from cocaine use. But, I had decided to stop hanging around him long before or I would have been dead too.

There are also movies such as "Video Girl", based on a true story for example too. Hollywood kills.

I agree about Bobby Brown. Whitney should have never married him. That marriage started a downhill spiral for her. I think she should have married Arsenio Hall.

I try to avoid people that are on drugs, Chas. They scare me.

In this day and age, people should know better.

Elvis died almost 35 years ago in 1977 when drug use wasn't talked about.

The dangers are well known and yet people who should be blessed die.

Being a star should last a lifetime. The money is real good.

They can make untold millions off of one film and/or hit record.

There is no reason for any celebrity to die of drug addiction.

They live large and can buy anything they want.

I don't feel sorry for any wealthy celebrity that make bad choices.

Whitney knew the dangers and knew that others died before her, right?

Her public meltdowns should've been her wake up call.

Drugs were just more important to her.

Everyone makes bad choices at some time in their lives. I don't think drugs were more important to her. Addictions get a hold of people and they are so hard to break. I feel bad for her. She was such a talented and beautiful woman.

Well, life still goes on.

I'm sure some sickly person would've loved to have wanted her health.

I don't think self destructive addiction is something to feel bad for.

It's not like she had cancer and wanted to live.

She died because she wanted to be strung out all the time.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
