Goodbye, Gove Vidal.

Goodby to one of the great philosopher-writers of our age. Also a literary critic of the first rank; an author of wonderful novels; playwright & movie script writer; TV writer and smartest of all the 'talking heads.'

I still remember when demi-moron Bill Buckley got so angry at Vidal's barbs that he threatened to '...sock you in the Goddamned face...'
Buckley, a weakling, Ivy League rear echelon dandy, would have been made mincemeat of by Vidal, an experienced WWII combat veteran. Gore Vidal just stood up to the puffery king and smiled knowingly at him. Buckly seemed to suddenly remember what he was really dealing with, and backed down like a popped mushroon ball.

If you love American History, read both "LINCOLN," and "BURR" by Gore Vidal. These historic novelizations contain more truth than most biographys of these two men, and are a true literary treat.

Goodbye Gore...

Buckley is no challange for anyone with half their wits, if he doesn't have control of the microphone.

Vidal may debate Nietzsche and George Santayana in the Heavenly equivelent of the south of Spain; while Buckley toils in his pit of burning brimstoneand waits for Shaun Hannity.

Polansky should be in a Hell of his own, along with Jim Bakker.

Vidal seemed to think that Polanski's victim was a hooker.

That's deserving of a trip to hell in and of itself......

The impact far outshining any importance in Gore Vidal's life and renewing a sense of hope and redemption for humanity's future is his death. That his egotistic arrogance and personal perversion should have held America and the world hostage to slavish meanness and historical confusion is a goddamn shame. The demise of such freaks is like a breath of fresh air, even in a culture fascinated with insanity and self-destruction. His epitaph should read "A psychotic Truther - A life hobbled by innumerable perversions replacing his lust for a sister, dead forever from masturbating in front of his neighbors." The man was a joke, thus a darling of the Left.

Incubus Vidal held Caligula as the pinnacle of civilization... a celebration of life. You and he give children bad dreams and venereal disease.

If my moniker was "Gore_Vidal" and I said the same things, you'd praise them.

Yes, well then your heart would be in the right place and your actions would be considered rational, thoughtful, erudite and "provocative"

If you'd said the same things as Gore Vidal, you wouldn'd be stupid, yes.
