Newton: 'Madonna is a Gifted Actress'

I knew that she is a great actress.

That is an essential part of being the world’s greatest entertainer.

Great actress??? Who ARE you people? Every movie she's ever been in (with the exception of Evita) sucked! If she were that good, she wouldn't be doing her pop-star thing in Europe, she'd be in L.A. or New York "acting". She can't, which is why she falls back on showing skin and putting on lavish productions to compensate for her lack of talent. Prancing around in a leather teddy is not talent, friends. Even her husband isn't using her in his films after that Swept Away fiasco. What does that tell ya?

Madonna can only concentrate on one project at a time. If she concentrates on acting, she may do better than she has in the past.

Madonna is a great mother. Her most important role to date.

You can keep LA/ Hollywood, Madonna made it NY and she always will goes back to NY.
Madison square garden is just few blocks away from Broadway. Its audience area is 20 times bigger and stage size at least 10 times bigger than a regular theatre.
I know your memory doesn’t stretch that far back, But is was Madonna who turned the a low budget film Desperately Seeking Susan into one of the biggest hits that year and one of the best films ever. Can you imagine anybody else play Madonna’s part(Susan). Many people have tried the sunglasses and Madonna look, but nobody has ever managed to recapture that jaw dropping heat that Madonna created when she stepped out of that bus in port authority. At that moment even a blind person could sense that her Madjesty had arrived and she was about to concur the world. and she did exactly that.
You can do everything you want cameras, lighting and everything else, but a good scene has to do with much more than those things. Ask any professional photographer or cinematographer, they would tell you the same. Ultimately it is the star who can bring the character to life. Madonna’s persona is too big for some roles. But when the right role arrives, she fills it up immaculately.
The film Who is That Girl was creationistic and hastily put together. But is was very funny and Madonna was just great in it. The line “I am nobody” was the biggest understatement ever. I think in 1987 even queen Elizabeth dreamed of being Madonna. Has anybody ever been able to be the centre of universe like Madonna has?

Now I know who Thandie Newton is. Thandie Newton must be a very smart woman to notice that. It is also remarkable for a award winning actress to admit that publicly. Normally they don’t do that in movie world. Now I know Thandie Newton.

When the "right role" comes along, she'll be too f-ing old to play it!! A great actor has versatility and can play any role! That's why they are called actors.

There are two kinds of versatile actresses. The low key ones and the high profile strong ones. The high profile ones have more difficulty finding the right role. At least Madonna has had few great roles. Some actresses don’t even have that. Unlike for the guys, Hollywood in general does not appreciate naturally strong women. They prefer the ones that bend backwards and forwards when they are asked to(not when the actresses want to). Once some of them grow up and get smarter like Madonna has always been, they too find it difficult to find the right role.

In 1985 Hollywood was shocked and felt threatened by the arrival of Madonna and her screen magnetism. Other Hollywood stars and starlets couldn’t even hold a candle to Madonna’s power. So from the day one, they didn’t want to see her succeed.

She pretends to sing and receives a healthy remuneration for her effots.

What an absolute load of sh**. To say that her presence in movies is egregious is an understatement. What is amazing is how different she is when she sings. She is an absolute nothing when she opens her mouth to talk. That's why she did so great in Evita - SHE WASN'T ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING.

Madonna needs to go to life camp. Learn to forget who she is. And learn about the perceptions of others.

Then she can be an actress.

Her performance live can not be compared to any other.She is acting!!!
