Has there been any discussion of whether or not they'll also release images the crash sites of the various LEMs and the Saturn booster from Apollo 13?

I would imagine that the LEM tops ought to have made pretty spectacular, and long, splashes since they weren't all that high up and were traveling at a pretty good clip.

NASA has pretty good estimates of the locations since the passive seismic experiments picked up the returns.

The following is a link to photographic proof of the five landing sites that so far have been flown over by the Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter, which is tasked with detailed mapping of the entire Moon and seeking water ice at the poles so that we can go BACK there and STAY, with an eye toward a Mars landing you won't believe happened either.

Anyone who doubts the validity of the historical fact we went to the moon NINE TIMES and landed on it SIX TIMES at this point isn't worth further discussion with me as obviously you're not into fact based thinking.
I feel sorry for any children you may have and would like the state in which you were "educated" to get its money back.

Yeah! Sounds good! Also, there were Saturn V third stage impacts that would have been much larger and I know those were much more targeted than say the Apollo 11 LM upper stage which I believe failed to receive the command to self destruct.

Self destruct? I thought they ALL were deorbited for the seismic packages.

Yep. You're right. I didn't say that properly. I think Apollo 11 failed to deorbit if I remember correctly. Thanks for catching that!

You're right - apparently the Eagle's ascent stage was not deliberately de-orbited.

from http://www.honeysucklecreek.net/msfn_missions...
Going behind the moon for the 29th time, Collins threw the right switches, and with a slight bang the LM backed off, watched sadly by Armstrong and Aldrin. Collins, though, was very pleased to see it steadily disappearing into the distance, taking all its complications with it. The Eagle would continue to circle the moon until it finally joined the other spacecraft corpses on the lunar surface.
And from, of all things, Wikipedia: the ascent stages of the Eagle and the Orion (Apollo 16) were the only two left in orbit to eventually impact the surface. The other four were deliberately de-orbited to impact in a timely manner for the benefit of the seismic experiments.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Lunar_Mod...

I had not known any of that.

Oh, yeah, and Wikipedia also says that Snoopy's ascent stage (Apollo 10) is in solar orbit(!).

Wouldn't THAT be a find someday?!

Indeed! Apollo 12's third stage comes our way in a solar loop every so often...I'm not 100% sure but I think it was photographed recently. I'll go digging for links when I have a minute...unless you fund it first!:)

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
