OK I am convinced you have AS, however it would be better to discuss this with a qualified therapist.

"People with Asperger syndrome often display behavior, interests, and activities that are restricted and repetitive and are sometimes abnormally intense or focused."

Start a journal, find a good therapist, spend 50 min every week talking to them, this is not the place.

I was "Just Wondering" why you consider yourself un-American? Couldn't be because you are questioning authority is it? I notice on my walks the American flag flying over expensive homes with three or more late model cars parked around, a fancy boat and other toys indicative of greedy capitalists. We are meant to think that they are ultra-patriotic because they fly the flag, but those families who have sacrificed a son or two, are without many basic amenities such as healthcare, which is a right of citizenship, are far more noble, courageous lovers of this country than any fatcat who has benefited off of an oppressive un-democratic system. Your friend in socialism, Ms. G and O.

G and O,

Seems someone tagged be as being some sort of traitor for asking questions.

I wake each day and wonder what the heck happened to our country.

Them three or more late model cars would not be some imports now would they?

"What happened to all the factories, daddy?"

"Well our people thought it was much easier to just buy imports from China, so we closed them all"

"But what happend to the workers in the factories?"

"Some of them found other work, some have died and the rest watch Maury Povich on their big screen TV's from China"

"Dad, can you help me with my homework? the question is "do you want_____ with that? I don't know the answer."

"OK but just this time the answer is "fries", but if your ever going to make it in the fast food industry your going to have to be able to think on your feet"

It's good to question and see clearly the way things are. Have you noticed the ads on T.V. for the "pennies a day" health insurance plans? When other countries are providing coverage freely to their citizens as a right, our greedy capitalist system is still trying to extort money from its people even in the midst of the construction of a viable single-payer plan by the current administration that will lift a huge burden off the shoulders of the population. There are many other examples that indicate a deconstruction of insatiable capitalism is necessary keeping looking for the signs.

With all due respect, there is no such thing as "freely given" health care. Someone's paying for it. My uncle's taxes in Ireland are almost twice what I pay. The only difference, really, is the added burden of health care. When an individual's life is negatively impacted because of the mandated taxation from a government body, then it becomes punitive. I'm a bit of a Libertarian when it comes to taxes and property rights. What argument for "universal health care" could you make when another tax would impact my life negatively. I'm not a materialist. The newest car I own is a 2001 mini van. I have a moderate home and live just barely above the line. I can't afford to support more people than my own.

With all due respect, if I am being taxed for healthcare which I know about, instead of wars and other covert military operations that I know nothing about, I would gladly agree to pay for the former.

G and O:

With all due respect - and you have earned it - your previous post begs the question: How do you feel about being taxed on both health care as well as declared wars on two fronts?

And, for that matter, bailing out AIG? And GM? And paying the salaries of people like "Turbo Tax" Tim Geithner?

I would like to see, rather than insipid commercials/PSAs asking me to call my Congressman urging him to vote for or against this most recent health care plan, a call to show up at the polling stations so that the American people can make the call.

Show me the damned bill, and I will be more than happy to give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Is that too much to ask?

But that's just my opinion - I may be wrong - But I'm not - Although I could be - But not really.

I don't like futile endless wars. All of the citizens along with those who have fought and died in them need universal healthcare provided as a right of citizenship. Don't gut the educational system or treat it like a welfare system either. This country is desperately in need of an adjustment in priorities and values on all fronts. Keep looking... its throughly warped.

G and O:

I half agree with you.

As a right of citizenship - for those who have worked and payed into the system to the best of their ability (God forgive me for the phrase)- being taken care of in the event of illness or injury should never be a concern. But, as the Devil's Advocate, I must know how it is going to be payed for.

Veterans should receive full coverage for life. With my thanks. Illegals should receive nothing whatsoever; let their respective countries of origin pay out of pocket, not me.

In a perfect world, this would not be an issue. As it is, however, this world is far from perfect, and is so deeply warped that even I understand it.

Live and let die, yes?

Gyps,

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you. My computer was running slower and slower, so I stopped using it until I could get it diagnosed and tuned up. If our society and its leaders reevaluated priorities and values, we'd find the money in the bloated military budget and in other spendy sinkholes our elected officials waste taxpayer dollars in to finance our healthcare and educational system at a more than adequate level. We need to traverse backwards carefully down a tricky path to get this country on track towards a future were taking care of its people comes first and staying home is the best policy to adopt. ;-} Ms. Kooky Liberal

G and O:

I do not think that gutting our military further while we are at war - a War on Terrorism, among others - is what one might call a Good Idea. There is plenty of pork out there that can be turned into bacon; let's not take any more from our soldiers than we already have.

The same goes for our sadly deficient education system. Leave the children alone; they have more than fair share to worry about as far as paying off our staggering National Debt without asking them to contribute anything more until they are (at the very least) old enough to get a job.

That said: The amount of cold hard cash that DC seems to think grows on trees aside, the cost of a complete Health Care Rebuild is not the main issue. The fact that our Federal Government insists on running the Kinder and Gentler Health Care System is the problem. These are a bunch of leeches and whoremongers who - not only refuse to pay taxes - but have absolutely no intention of using the system they want to pawn off on We the People.

Additionally, this is a group of people who are too G-Damned stupid to know what a dollar is worth. Witness the disaster that "Cash for Clunkers" brought to our attention; we ran out of money after FOUR days rather than four months.

Congress and the Senate are like a fecal King Midas - anyhting they touch turns to excrement. Do NOT let them have any more powere. At all. Period. Forever and ever.

Amen.

You are just plain nasty, violate all the rules of posting, and are very pessimistic about this country's future. Pessimists dwell on the negative, never looking for the solution.

Whether we are at war or not Gypsy there is a tremendous amount of waste in our military budget. Half the bases we have scattered around the world could be closed with no adverse reaction to our overall safety. STOP HIRING MERCENARY FORCES like Blackwater. We the taxpayers spend millions training this folks, then Blackwater the Crusaders get outrageous no bid contracts and are able to lure away the guys we just spent millions on because they can pay way more than military wages because we just gave them a no bid. D'OH!!! I think of it in terms of a dog chasing his tale and WHOOPS, he just caught it - now what? And BW isn't the only no-bid contractor that is ripping us off, KBR comes to mind but there are many many more.

C4C turned out to be such a successful program they ran out of money and gave them some more. They ran out of that money. Have ya seen the footage of the all the auto workers that were either part time or completely laid off that are now back to full time work, called back from layoff & looking at over time. Have ya seen any of the little guy suppliers to the big auto companies - they to are calling back their laid off workers also. And one quick on his feet entrepeneur, when he heard of C4C called all his peeps in and said 'lets come up with some thing that this program needs and they quickly developed a liquid that is poured into the engine block. Run the engine a few minutes and it permanently seizes. He said the scrap yards are also hiring to met the demand. And the C4C program even had to add more workers to make sure all the claim now get processed more quickly. We're building more cars, that means the cut back steel mills still in America will be getting back into full time production. I cannot knot my knickers over a 3 bil program that put people back to work, especially not when you place it beside the Wall Street bailout - a bipartisan effort of congress. C4C pales greatly in that comparison.
