Learning on the fly

We begin this lesson with a cliche, a quote from "A River Runs Through It"--the gorgeous Norman Maclean fly-fishing book, not the movie starring the gorgeous Brad Pitt : "So my brother and I learned to cast ... Full Story

I just watched this 6 minute video and read this 4 page article. Why is this article in the Brad Pitt forum? Is Brad planning on making a movie on fly fishing? As interesting as this article is, I can't help thinking that it is just advertisement for traveling. Are you desperate for more business?

I laughed reading this article. Personally I thought it was great. I have been fishing all my life, and some time back I took up flyfishing. There is no experience quite like it when it comes to fishing. Its so active and entertaining. Also you can really feel the fish on your flyrod, you can feel them fight and struggle and it literally makes your heart race! I think the reason for the story is more because he caught his first fish on flyrods and experienced that and wanted to write about it. I think its more about the experience than it is about advertising for tourism.

Man I gotta get out there and hit the streams. Any good trout streams in southern wisconsin?

Dave,

I only know of some trout fishing in Northern Wisconsin, in Indian country by Keshena, Shawano off hwy. 47 Apple Creek. Also the Upper Pennisula by Manistique and Escanaba.

I think that movie is when I first...well, that movie was so beautiful and Brad was so perfect for the part. It was awful that they killed his character off though.

His character, Tristan, bought it too.

Maybe that is why I'm partial to the "Oceans" movies. Brad gets to live.
