'Bruno' stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Paula Abdul, Ron Paul

Full story: Chicago Tribune

Extraordinarily raunchy, occasionally funny, "Bruno" takes everything "Borat" did so well three years ago and pushes it further, swapping one primary target for another .

Brüno! I have not seen the movie but I strongly feel that I have. Since 1978 - at least that‘s how it feel - am I being bombarded with Brüno-ads, Brüno-reports, stories of Brüno licking Eminem, Brüno befriending Cher, Brüno marrying Angelina Jolie, Brüno talking to LaToya Jackson, Brüno getting screwed by Bernie Madoff (I might have made that one up) and Brüno dropping his pants in front of everybody except his own girlfriend (although I would really, really love to see a segment on Fox News where Bill O‘Reilly drops his pants in the presence of Isla Fisher, but that‘s just me).

I start to suspect that this is the future of journalism - the press getting paid by Hollywood to promote a movie, disguised as news. Then again, I‘m open minded to that as well. Listen, Brüno: I'm willing to post some exiting and made-up Brüno-news on whatever website you desire, if you buy one of my books per posting. You go first.

Cohen is a bore. His comedy consists of simply degrading people. Very unfunny, especially when trying to pull a joke on a great human being like Ron Paul, which he probably thought would be a sure way to sell his film -- trick the celebrity politician into a cameo role.

Sacha is cheesy and sad. Someone please put him out of his misery... oh I forgot, the ignorant sheep like him. Oh well, who is Ron Paul?

I love ron Paul but just because cohen/Bruno makes fun of him doesn't make him unfunny. Haven't seen Bruno yet. I thought borat was very uneven. Hilarious at times. Ridiculous. Offensive. Boring at times. Not great but better than most movies out there. We'll see about Bruno.

@ jogn galt...the point of his humor is to point out how people really act when they think there will be no repercussions of their actions and they think no one they know will find out how they think, and how racist or bigoted or close minded they really are, you obviously dont get it all, ha we are the ones who are ignorant, when you dont even understand the very basic ideas of his humor...good argument, and he doesnt need a politician in his film to sell tickets, after borat everyone knows who he is, he didnt specifically target ron paul he just wanted any famous politician to poke fun at the political sex scandels

Actually, women are very happy about the movie Bruno; any guy who admits to having seen the entire thing and/or likes the movie is immediately put on the 'do not date this creep' list.

Bruno is a hilarious movie, especially since it essentially is about using stereotypes and human in exposing homophobic and generally ignorant fools for what they are, fools. Everyone that watched the movie in the theater I watched it came back thinking the same things, Sacha Baron Cohen is hilarious, and homophobes are insecure and immature and paranoid and weird.
