This is a bit of a stretch... I think about 2% of the US population would have known to connect Persia to Iran. This is a film, taken from a graphic novel, practically frame for frame, and those allegations against the west as a whole are ridiculous. I can't respect the opinion of political leaders who promote such inane restrictions on what citizens can and cannot view.

Does anyone even care whether Iran is outraged or not? Or here's a better question... Is there anything about the U.S that doesn't already outrage the Iranians?

True but you have to blame it on their government that censors so much. How can they be outraged if their people didn't even see the movie? Talk about the government brainwashing thier own people.

Maybe let the people see the movie and then they can be outraged if need be.

Here's how I picture Iran:

Iranian government addressing the people of Iran: "This movie 300 is an insult to Iranians and you will respond with outrage or we will beat you and kill your family!"

Iranian people: "We are outraged! Death to the USA!"

Agent Kivi , your president has called for a country to be wiped off the face of the earth and now is outraged by a movie. Can you say Insane ?

I have nothing against decent Persians but your child president brings everything upon himself and blames all others.

Next time you see him sucking his thumb would you please tell him to grow up , release the Persian students in jail and stop thinking the world is so stupid to believe any of his temper tantrums.

P.S. If the United States of America wanted Iran to disappear it would be gone.

Iran and America can be friends but Iran needs an adult president who is not starting shit every other week.

Your probably off alittle bit with 2% but damn close. And this movie came from a Comic book version of Thermopylea.

This is silly and somehow I don't think the average Iranian really cares all that much about it. If the Ayatollahs don't like it they can make a movie of their own, I'm sure it would be the new standard of historical accuracy...

Where is the honor of yesteryear,
Of Thermopylae, and the Spartan's lack of fear?
Where is the ambition to give one's life,
In the fight for Freedom, Truth, and Right?
Is to be honorable such a sin
That it brings scorn from friend and kin?
O God, to be a Man is such a struggle
That I wonder the meaning of this life of trouble.
Yet, from the back regions of my mind
I hear a lonely echo rise,
An echo that pierces my very soul
And helps me remember my goal:
"WE DIE PROUD..........WE DIE PROUD!"

The movie is historically in acurated all the way around. It is not a historical account but a comic book fantacy version of a historical event.

I haven't seen the comic book/movie, but I'm familiar with the story of the 300 Spartans versus
the thousands and thousands of Persians. As a college grad, I'm ashamed of myself for NOT making the connection between Persia and Iran, but THAT'S
inconsequential, really. Yeah, the Iranians have themselves a leader that's a real nut-job, and HE gets bent out of shape over a movie (?) that depicts something that happened thousands of years ago. You would THINK he'd have BETTER things to do.

It's only a movie based on a comic book.
It isn't even historically really correct to begin with.

While in the Air Force, I spent 2 1/2 years in Oklahoma (Burns Flat, Oklahoma, to be accurate).
The one thing I miss about you "Okies" is that you have a way of getting to the point. Yes, it's JUST a comic book/movie, and YES, it's NOT terrifically
historically accurate, either. I miss Oklahoma, sometimes, but I DON'T miss your winters, though:

While I think trying to view this movie as political propaganda is a bit of a stretch, odd that no one points to the fact that the Greeks are led by corrupt politicians, and faithless religious pedophiles who would gladly sell out their own state for gold and young girls? The Greeks or the "West" don't really come out looking that "good." It's the actions of a small group of men who enjoy walks with other well oiled and mostly naked men who throw babies off cliffs that shows everyone else that freedom is worth committing suicide for to defend. Perhaps someone should be angry about how the "West" is portrayed in 300...or is it a little too close to home for anyone to bring up?

I enjoyed the movie, read the comic, great eye candy, for all.
