Is Bollywood coming to Hollywood?

Full story: www.cnn.com

"Slumdog Millionaire" took home eight Oscars on Sunday night, a surprising achievement for a film once thought to be straight-to-DVD fodder. The colorful story, which mixes the gritty life of Mumbai's poor with the shiny aspirations of the new India, features no stars recognizable to Western audiences, but it may have made one of its native country.

I thought it was a new Rapper at first.
We cold make a film in US called slumslob on welfare. They are going to be a rag to riches story too by the time Obadumya gets through showering them with taxpayer money.

I hope so. It was a nice change from the same predictable movies that hollywood comes out with. I was so happy that the oscars got it right this year.

Slumdog Millionaire wins an Oscar. There will be at least a dozen lousy knockoff movies in the genre.
In Hollywood, there's a little inspiration followed by a lot of imitation.

Every "dog" has its day. Now its Bollywood's turn to make their presence really felt in Hollywood. I saw it coming. Hollywood and Bollywood should work together to bring out the best in talents in the different field of film-making from both industry.

I said the dancing at the end was lame. The movie itself was good. But, It's kind of just a one time watch, replay value is pretty low.

We are looking at a huge depression, the stock market crashes everytime Obama opens his pie hole, and folks are worried about "bollywood". Nothing like having priorities.

Oh yes he can and he did. He has the right to free speech. While I agree that it was not lame, I disagree with your assertion that he "cannot go around saying things like that"

It is not that Bollywood is coming to Hollywood....it is globalization; Hollywood into Bollywood and taking it worldwide....thru Hollywood channels.

Bollywood had forgotten that in the '60s & '70s, it had it own channels for the eastern half of the globe.

first it was 7-11, then I.T. jobs, then customer service. Now MLB and Hollywood have jumped on the outsourcing bandwagon to India - pitiful!
