Full story: Zap2it.com

Might the fourth "Twilight" film not see light of day? Over the past two days, rumors have flown about whether a film version "Breaking Dawn," the final book in the human-loves-vampire series, is already in some stage of pre-production. "The most I've heard from Summit is 're-read it and start thinking about it,'" "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa ...

maybe they should have thought about that b4 making the first one. It would be horrible if they told the whole story except for the end.

If the fans could handle reading the book Breaking Dawn they should be able to handle the movie. Last book pulls it all together and I'm sure everything would be in good taste plus everyone has already read the book and knows what to expect anyway.

I can't see this being legitimate. They can't do 3 movies and leave the story unfinished just because there's a concern over whether the film will appeal to the right demographic. I've already heard it stated by some critics that Twilight should have been R-rated any. Just go for it -- today's audiences are more mature than they were 20 years ago. Or, simply follow the lead of most literary film adaptations of the last 100 years and change the story. Not every adaptation has to be verbatim. Just look at James Bond. What Meyers should be concerned about is I recall that final book didn't exactly go over well with fans; she might benefit from using this opportunity to create a do-over of the finale.

I really hope they don't make the mistake of dumbing the subject matter down to be appropriate for young teens. The books are quite descriptive and a little distrubing, but anything less would be loosing the effect and the message this part is trying to give. Bella is in danger, from alot of different people, so that needs to be displayed. It won't be easy, but that is the way it should be made. The books mature as they go along and so should the readers.

Why in the world would they start making these movies if they aren't going to be making a movie for "Breaking Dawn" ?? It's the best book of the series??? If they stop at Eclipse -- the story won't be completed....

The truth is the first movie was so poorly made that if Summit did some real market research (ie. not the type that seeks to justify bad decisions) it must be aware of how poorly received the first movie was.

For all their bluster at claiming a huge success, Summit must be very worried that Catherine Hardwicke may have killed the Franchise already.

This book is so awsome i do not know why u would evn think of not having the fourth one. I think this becuase all the people like the first one so why would they not like the secound one or the third or fourth.I also think that the author should make another book about Edward and bella maybe even there new baby.I think a lot of people would like that a lot

The supposedly-liberal folks in Hollywood and elsewhere need to stop worrying about what people who won't even watch the movie to begin with will think about it. I mean, do you honestly think the bastards who burned the Harry Potter books ever read the things? The target audiences for these books and movies actually are a lot smarter than folks seem to think, and I'm tired of them being treated like they'll break if you breathe on them too hard. I'm sure a kid who has lost his father or other relative in the so-called war in Iraq will be a lot more traumatized, and for a lot longer, than a direct book-to-movie treatment of Breaking Dawn. Time to grow up, America, and join the rest of the planet.

The real problem with "Breaking Dawn" is that Bella turns into a vampire herself, and that removes the will-they-won't-they odd couple angst that propelled the earlier books in the series. It's kind of an irony that once a hero gets what he/she wants in any work of fiction, the story is pretty much over.

As for Aaron's comments, feh. Why would the people you so swinishly denigrate object to what happens in "Dawn"? Bella and Edward are married before she has the baby, and the baby ISN'T aborted. I think that aspect of the book is hardly problematic. J.K. Rowling's goofball, grandstanding announcement as to Dumbledore's sexual orientation - after all of the Potter books were safely sold, natch - is far more objectionable to parents who reasonably believed they were conned. I doubt, however, that Rowling's self-serving stunt will hurt the movie series, however.

Please don't exclude any of the books from movie making. As an adult fan, I urge you to proceed with making ALL books, and as alike as possible to the books, into movies. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the discussion of the abortion. I'm against abortion and I felt they covered that perfectly in the book as to why she would not get it. I feel that is very crucial for teens to consider. I also feel there is nothing wrong with putting the desire of the wolves to kill Bella because of the babe for the books covers that as well. These are for young adults AND aud adults!! Some many other "teen" moves out there cover sex ect..... personally, I'd like to see more of the passion they excude in the books in the film. Please, It's such a big part, after all, is in not a "love" story??!
Please don't disapoint the fans!
Thank you!

Apparently, I didn't make my point clearly enough. So, here's take two:

My point was that the movie needs to be made as faithfully to the book as possible, without worrying about what the bible-thumpers or other people will think about it. The "so-called liberals" I was referring to are the folks who claim to be all for free speech and expression on one hand, then quail in the corner like little girls whenever Rush Limbaugh or some such starts pontificating. If the filmmakers don't want to make the movie because of the thin skins of a certain segment of the American public, then they probably shouldn't make it. Better it never be filmed than be watered down to satisfy the puritanical ravings of the lunatic fringe who won't watch the movie, haven't read the books and haven't an imaginative bone in their bodies.

In other words, let the people who actually enjoy the books judge the worth of the movie, not those who won't watch it in the first place. And if American Dragon didn't get my point that time, then I'm afraid the problem lies with you.

i think that you guys should have thought about this before you started making the movie twilight. There is no point in making anymore movies if your not going to make a movie out of breaking dawn. Breaking dawn was the final book and its a big part of the series. It would be STUPID if you didnt make a movie out of breaking dawn but continued making the movies out of the other two books!!!!!

Summit has to make Breaking Dawn. It's not like we haven't heard or read about or seen some of these issues in our lives already. If they don't make the movie it would be like leaving dinner half cooked and expecting everyone to eat it. I mean it's not like we haven't heard these issues on tv or at home already. It's a story that needs to make it to screen. Sort of the grand finale of these amazing books. The are by far the best books ever written. Let them make it to screen.

it must be made!!! target audience bull! I know tons of people from 30 on up past 60 who have read the books and loved the movie and will see every last one that gets made. the young people who have read them will be a bit older by the time the final one comes out, plus the final book should be divided into 2 movies. it all takes time.
