yes, I understand that when one of your doctors commits malpractice, then there is a reluctance to disgorge the paperwork so they jack the price. Understandable. Welcome to the wonderful world of commerce. However, records of court proceedings are supposed to be handled with a different 'tude than that. There is supposed to be more of what public policy analysts refer to as "transparency" with courts than with the kind of entities with whom you deal.

First of all, I don't own anyone. Second, my business nor any of those who are employeed therein have ever been sued. The suits I describe are for clients. I understand transparency, but it is a fact that whenever an employee of a business has to find and do something for you. You are going to pay. |

Well, first of all, no one is arguing that Darrian's transcript should be free, but if someone comes along and does argue that, I will help explain your concept of things-cost-money to that person. Frankly, the occasion is unlikely to arise. Second, the court reporter is not an employee of a business, but, rather an employee of the government. Government should not be confused with government, nor government with business as you keep doing on this sub-thd. Third, and most important, the real issue is whether a court reporter deserves two thousand bucks to shoot me a few pdfs. My opinion is that she does not because it is just not that much work (she already has the pdfs by the way -- it is not like she needs to do a scan from a paper copy). Like I said, I was willing to shoot her a few hundered dollars, but two thousand is just too much and it should not be that much. If they had charged $400 then they would have made a tidy profit on me and my stubborn curiosity. Instead, all I did was suck up afew minutes of their time and will be shooting no Yankee dollars southwards today. But, really, it is not about the money, I don't think. |

I'm not sure if you are referring to me, but if so..... 1. I'm not your chicka. 2. I don't care. 3. I don't have co-workers. 4. I don't have a cat or cats. Thank you so much for your hint. |
