I have a 2002 triumph bonnieville amercia the speedometer reads twice as fast has am go lube cable checked speedo gear checked ok need help

Ive heard of 5 over, but 2x?? Thats a new one!! It seems they ALL do 5 over? Dont think anyone ever figured why?
