The diaphram is probably torn on top of the throttle slide under the shiny cover with two screws under it which sits on top of the carburetor. The vacuum operated diaphram is sucking air, hence, not raising the needle out of it's jet, see,, It aint getting all of the fuel mixture it needs and wants.. hope that is of some help. It worked on a 125cc scooter. arte

There is a throttle adjustment on the righthand side of the idle adjustment screw, you might try that. Also, don't depend on the speedometer to be accurate, they are usually junk. Have someone pace you in a Car or Truck to find out just how fast you are going. And, use a high octane gas, 90 is recommended, but I use 93 octane, absolutely no ethanol.

Seems like you know what you are doing. Do you have idea about making Roketa Sicily 150 go faster than 50 mph ? The dealer told me it could go 65 mph but it was a lie. I ,atleast , need 60 mph speed to ride to work on the back roads.

In reviewing many of the on-line forums regarding Motor Scooters, one of the most frequently asked questions is "How do I make my 50cc Scooter run faster?" First of all, a 50cc is not a speed demon. However, my Nephew has an "old" Honda 50cc, it's acceleration and top speed put the new 50cc's to shame. There is a way of increasing the speed of a newer 50cc scooter. Depending on the make and model there may be a restriction added on inlet of the exhaust port. Sometimes manufacturers will put a limiter on the throttle slide on the carb or a restricter plate in the intake manifold. Others use a limiter on the variator to keep top speed down. All these can be corrected. There is also a 80cc upgrade kit. Not sure it is for all makes or models. These can be purchased off the internet, but are not cheap. However, keep in mind, all these things are illegal, and will void any warranty you may have. Also these changes will create undo stress and wear on the engine, gears, drive belt, and reduce their life. Secondly better have someone you trust and is a professional in repairing small engines do the work, "if" you can find one who will do it. A hack will screw your scooter up like Hogan's Goat. There are some websites dedicated to souping up the scooter 50cc engine.

Those of you who've bought a Chinese scooter, I would greatly appreciated it if you could take a couple minutes to fill out the questions on my survey. I'm hoping to start a factual knowledge base that will weed out some of the 'opinion' stuff and allow new scooter buyers to make a good decision--to choose the dealer and scooter that works best to fit their needs. The link for the surveys is

Thanks a whole bunch!

OK, Your problem is most likley NOT the Diaphram, Not if its a new bike. You want to deristrict it. If you pull the CVT cover, look in the belt groove of the left pully. You will most likely notice you belt is riding on a washer or "race". If you do not have mechanical knowhow "DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER!!!!" You will need to find someone to pull the front of that pully, remove the belt, remove the washer, and possibly get a smaller belt. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN WITHOUT THE PROPER TOOLS, YOU CAN SERIOUSLY HURT YOURSELF AND YOUR SCOOTER!!. I didnt say that as a generic disclaimer, I said all that because its true. Dont ruin your bike because you are impatient or dont have the right tools. If their is no washer on you bike, look into a deristricted CDI. Depending on which plant your bike came from, there are several different methods they use to restrict 50cc's. The most common I have seen is the washer on the belt. Go to WWW.scootdawg.com for more info. They really know their stuff.

If you have a Roketa 4 stroke 50cc, there is no variator or exhaust restriction. I understand they are coming out with a 70cc upgrade kit for the 4 stroke 50cc, but not sure they are avialable in the U.S. yet

i have a 2007 generic cracker 50 moped. it has an indicated top speed of 35-40. however my dad has been out with me on his bike and he says it only does about 25-30. it is not derestricted. i have searched for websites for information on this make & model but as it is korean (i think) it is hard to find any information about it.does anyone know how i could derestrict it? i have checked the exhaust and that isn't the problem. i have heard of an intake restrictor???

please send replies to durex-16@hotmail.com ;-)

There is a speed limiter on most all ATV's and scooter's. It is a little plastic electronic box about 1.1/2" x 1.1/2" in size. black in most cases. You will need a test light. the ignition wires comming out of the engine go through this box. Put the test light on each wire and turn the engine over until you find the wire that each time the piston is at TDC/Top dead center will send a joult of power huck this wire straght to the + side of the coil and bypas the speed limiter box. You should get all the power you are looking for. there are many ways to restrict an engine. This is just my gess. Try it at your owen risk

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Gemini

It's a red letter day for relationships under the Lunar Eclipse in your house of significant others, because you're facing some important and far-reaching changes to some of them. The pressure has been building since the Gemini Solar Eclipse on May 20. f you've known for some time that things aren't working out, you're about to reach a crisis point as becomes obvious that the present situation can't continue much longer. The coming New Moon in Gemini on June 19 will see progress of one kind or another, though this unusual eclipse cycle will have a far-reaching effect. You may have to be cruel to be kind, or more forceful than you would like, in order to get your point across, but do you really have any viable alternative?
