For my money, can not beat the price and quality. Local manufacturer, so parts and service for me are not a problem. Let's see how it's doing in 2 years.

I decided to purchase a moped after renting a Kymco at http://www.elbowbeachcycles.com/ , a bermuda moped rentals store I went to while I was on vacation. I was so impressed with it that I purchased it when I returned to the states. I would highly recommended it.

Im thinking about buying a Tao Tao Hunter-50 from Family Motor sports inc. The website seems legit not sure how to really tell, but my question is has anyone heard of the brand or the company selling them? Good? Bad? Anything at all? There is also a pre tune up guide i read for it that sez it will stop all the problems I've read in here. Any advice at all would be helpful.

Family Motors is not a dealer, it is a Chinese scooter distributor. They do not repair or service the scooters they sell. The warranty is a Factory warranty, which is in China, not theirs. Advice is easy and free - Don't! Spend the extra $$ and get a name brand scooter. You have dealers in Chicago which sell one of the best Scooters in the Country. Genuine Buddy. Check them out. I wish I lived closer to Chicago, I would have one as fast as I could get to the dealer.

I've been wanting a scooter for sometime now and have a question. Considering a "trike" which is better, 2 in front {Sunny} or 2 in back? I have to stick to 3 wheels as I am disabled. I do like the appearance of the Sunny with the articulating front end. I'm curious as to which has better control. It's offered in 50 & 150 cc. any replies would be appreciated, thanks Joe

It is a 50cc and very wimpy. Top end 32-35 mph, and acceleration is weak. Don't know about the quality as he has only had it a couple months. Looks cool performs like a tricycle.

Kymco scooter quality is very highly rated. Prices are about the same as Honda and Yamaha. Haven't heard of any real problems with them. I think they are made in Taiwan but not sure. As far as recommendations, we need to know what you want from a scooter amd what are your needs.

Beware of Cheap chinese scooters. I am sure whoever wants to purchase a scooter would like it to run and not be kept in a storage or as a showcase. I am a very proud owner of Honda for two years now. I initially had a thought of buying a cheap chinese scooter. The chinese scooter could be bought online at some places for $750 whereas i paid around $2150 for Honda. I came across many disatisfied chinese scooter owners after this. Most of the chinese scooters have very less warranty. One of my friend recently bought a chinese scooter for 1300 against my advice which had only 100 miles warranty and it failed within 50 miles!!!!. He had to take it to the dealer. Luckily it failed within the city saving him the towing cost. He bought it to travel to his home from his work place 30miles over the weekend. Now considering the excellent reliability (?!) he wants to sell it. My Honda scooter has now crossed 10600 miles and it has never been to a dealer. All i had to do is to change oil regularly apart from a few maintenance suggested by Honda, like changing coolant after 7500 miles, air filter etc,. My friend is desparately trying to sell at $300 discount. Wanna buy it?
