Just got it and have been doing a hard break in.... I notice that when I go down the road say 50mph....the rpm is at 9,000 ? This seems very high...or is it normal? Anyone else have one that can confirm for me?

I've never been over about 6500 RPMs. What is your normal idle RPM?

I also just got the fiji last week. It runs at high RPM's at 50 as well. The exhaust also stays extrememly hot for hours after even a short ride. I"m assuming the high RPM's are only because the scooter probably has 3 gears and taking the the 3rd gear to its max at around 50-60 makes teh scooter run at high RPMS

Wow..only 6500...I'm at 6000 while doing 30mph... I have one correction...I said fiji because that's what I ordered...but it actually says Aruba...I guess it's the same? 60mph...interestings...mine will do 50-55...but more like 50... I'm a bit disappointed as it was advertised to go 65mph...

my exhaust is hot as well....I'm wondering if there is some restriction that needs to be removed? Also wonder if they were using a different muffler on the older models (hence the high top end speed and probably lower rpms???)

The exhaust is supposed to be hot. Very hot. There is no "3 gears" about it, the Fiji has a constantly changing range of ratios with no steps. The transmission responds to engine speed and load. It is possible that the belt is not reaching the outer edge of the variator, which gives high revs and lower speed. It may do better after break in, but may not. Chinese speedometers are inaccurate, some are very inaccurate, as are Chinese tachometers. Most stock 150 GY6 scoots top out in the mid to high 50s, some a little better. Check all nuts, bolts and screws regularily and often, until everything seats, or expect to have parts falling off. I'm not knocking Chinese scooters, I ride one. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MOTOFINOS...

I've not put on about 600 miles on my fiji and its great. Forgot to change the oil after 100 miles though and had to do it at 300. Also remember to put in 90 octane or higher unleaded gas as i was puting in 87 for awhile. Checking all nuts and bolts and screws reguraly is VERY IMPORTANT as retroretead stated because i've already lost a couple and they are hard to replace because most of them are real goofy. I usually top out on a colder day at around 57 on speedometer

New Aruba... Rear brake lost all adjustment on practice MOST stop.. The Manual is nearly useless.. The rear Rear adjustment is almost entirely taken up in order to readjust... The Cable mechanism attaches to the Brake Shaft with a splined type clamp ... Can I adjust the brake by rotating that clamp clockwise... ...Also... the ABS brake level gauge window is now designed to be non-functional ??

I recently bought a 150cc Aruba scooter. It rained pretty heavily last night , and im not sure that has anything to do with it, but now it won't start. I tried the electric and kick start, and i can hear it crank for about a second but it refuses to turn all the way over and crank all the way. Any ideas?

Those of you who've bought a Chinese scooter, I would greatly appreciated it if you could take a couple minutes to fill out the questions on my survey. I'm hoping to start a factual knowledge base that will weed out some of the 'opinion' stuff and allow new scooter buyers to make a good decision--to choose the dealer and scooter that works best to fit their needs. The link for the surveys is http://www.geocities.com/the1weasel/scootersu... Thanks a whole bunch!

I recently got a Roketa fiji 150 from a friend. The bike was running fine before the winter. After winter it seems like we've lost alot of power. I can only get the bike up to 35mph on a long straight away. The things that I've checked are: Gas: made sure to put in premium air filter:looks bran new millage: 650 oil: looks good spark plug:looks a little burnt. I am replacing this tonight. Any help you can provide here would be great. The owners manual doesn't help at all.

I have a fiji/aruba 150 and i've had it about a month and a half. already put 1,000 miles on it. runs great and i love it. it tops out at about 65. I am wondering if there is a governor on it that can be removed for more speed...
