I'm a regular at Bob Schultz Motorcycles, and has anyone thought that maybe the only reason that everyone there are dicks is that if they try to help a customer or be nice they could get fired by the ass hole 'service manager'/ owner!! That and most yuppie HD owners whine soo much because they paid so much for there bike and it's gota be worked on all the time. Go buy a Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, or any thing but a harley and go riding instead of dealing with the dealerships. No offence.:)

Heard Bob Schultz was sold this week. New owners can not be as bad as A hole that did own it. Will be curious to see what happens next. |

Bob Schultz has been sold to new owners as of yesterday. The dealership will now be called St. Charles Harley Davidson.

I bought a Road King from Villa Park, Illinois, Wildfire hd. and they sold me an ESP with Tire coverage approx $2300.00 My salesman, Tony, told me this would cover me fender to fender and top to bottom for 4 years. Twelve months later a screw landed on my front cylinger and screwed up my engine. Called the ESP, well they say "denied" cause there were some non factory parts on my bike. Well, I bought it this way from the dealer. So, I talk to a CFO from the dealer and his comment was, my salesman can tell you anything, but its your fault for not reading the small print"....... so the dealer put my engine and parts in boxes and 6 months later I am still trying to get resolution. It will be over $5000 to fix my bike and the dealership says "tough", and I still have 5 years left on the loan..........Do not go to Wildfire or Suburban(City Lights) HD Dealerships in Illinois.

I kept giving Bob Schultz (BS for short)the benefit of the doubt when getting questionable service. But they were real close to home and on the way home from work too. I never had any complaints about their parts department. The sales department would walk right past you as if you didn't exist, unless they knew you were wanting to buy right then. Finally got a belly full of their shoddy service and quit going all together.
I just heard they closed down. Must be true. They even shut down their crappy website. I'm surprised HD let BS stay a dealership as long as they did. There are other dealerships in these parts that would love to have the area. DING DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD, THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD!!! |

Good Riddance Weffel and the legacy you left.
Not one good thing about Bob Shultz H-D have I ever heard! If he was still alive he would be ashamed of the way you tarnished his name. |

You want to buy a Harley Davidson in the St. Louis area go to Doc's Harley Davidson. I have been treated with nothing but the utmost respect. The Service is great. Patty Bush is the owner and every time me and my wife come into that dealership she goes out of her way to not only make us welcome but treat us like one of her own family. After reading the Bob Schultze thing....my next Harley purchase will be at Doc's. I live in O'Fallon Mo. and trust me it is worth the drive!!

They have changed their name--are they still the same owners? As a lady, I went to buy a motorcycle and was completely ignored for 30 minutes. I was very disappointed in my first encounter with the motorcycle world.

BOB SCHULTZ SOLD HIS BUSINESS IN 1975 AND DOESNT EVEN OWN THE COMPANY IF YOU WAN TO TALK ABOUT THE OWNER ITS BILL WAFFEL GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! |

Interesting comments. yes the old Schultz is gone with about half the people. Where as the new owners have a large task to turn around that place. It is pretty easy for them improve things. Time will only tell. I like alot what has happen so far, hopefully the trend will continue. Its best to shop around when buying a bike. Of the 5 local dealers I checked when i bought my 2004, Schultz beat them all by $500. He must have been hungry that day!

I bought a 09 FLSTF 2 weeks ago from the new owners. I will say there was a difference in attitude there. I traded a 08 Yamaha Raider for 11 grand. Times are hard for sales. If that were Bob Schultz, they would have told me to hit the road. I hated dealing with that old crabby bald headed fkr in service (which was the owner). I could have gone to any other HD dealer, I gave the new owners a chance. Happy Holidays, everyone!

I have my own story about Bob Schultz Harley. I stopped in one afternoon following a Cards baseball game on my way out of town. While I was waiting to talk to one of their salespeople, I overheard one of their salespeople tell a customer that they do charge a set-up fee on new bikes. Once I got to talk to another one of their salespeople, I asked him about that. He said that was true, that they don't charge a set-up fee, saying that there is enough margin on new bike sales. Anyway, I got a quote on a particular model, even though I had no intention of buying it there. In January, when I was ready to order a new Harley, I called them for another quote. When I was given the price, I asked if there was a charge for set-up, and he said yes. I told him that I was in a couple of months before, and was told that they didn't charge for set-up. H basically told me that he didn't know who I talked to, but that they always charge for set-up. I ended up buying my new Heritage from J-L Harley in Sioux Falls, where I used to live, and I can tell you that they didn't charge me for either freight OR set-up. STAY AWAY FROM BOB SCHULTZ. I don't trust a dealer that lies straight to my face. |

We just purchased a HD FXDL from Bob Shultz and had a wonderful experience. I am greeted everytime we step foot in the store and have never been treated rude or ignored. Happy customer and would recommend. We shopped all around the STL and IL area before purchasing.

When in KC go to Gail's H-D. That is a great dealership and they are very professional and easy to work with. And I don't even work there!
