Well, as the first one to post in the EVO forum, I'm going to suggest Harley brings back the Evo in at least one prodution motorcycle in it's line-up. If all the aftermarket types (bigdog, ironhorse, occ, ultra, etc) can run Evo style engines, then why can't Harley? Use the other bikes in the HD line to expand and experiment, but give us back an evo-powered softail, PLEASE!

Wonder how S&S, RevTech, TP, et. al., are going to meet EPA restrictions?
Evo is a fine design. I own two. Learning to do some serious tinkering on them (will be attending a HD engine-building course in Ohio the end of this month). It has been interesting to learn the changes in the motor, oiling system for example. Left-hand to right-hand thread change on pinion shaft nut in '93 is another.
Look forward to discussions on the Evo!

Hey bro's been ridin for awhile, but I have run into a serious electrical problem. Can anyone help me find a wiring diagram for a 93 FXRP? Being a 'retired police' bike I am having a really hard time finding parts and information?

Highly recommend that you go ahead and by the service manual AND the parts manual for the particular year, make, and model. Sometimes there are significant changes from year model to the next, such as in the electrical system on the '95 and '96 models. Good luck.

The Sportster is still an EVO engine. Also you can get re-manufactured 1340's from Harley. So the EVO lives onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

hey anyone know what years of the evo had block problems which would make it not advisable to put a stroker kit on your evo. I heard some years the block would crack. Is that true. I have a '94 evo and would very much like to make it a 96" stroker.

American Iron Magazine did a thing on that a couple of months ago. I don't remember off the top of my head which years are better/worse than others. Sorry...

Probably the best would be from S&S on the engine. About $30.00 and probably well worth the money...

Frame/chassis? Good question.

The bike is a Saxon Warlord, the dealer told me too pick up an S&S manual, and the frame I don't really need, but I do need a "how to" manual or DVD for the engine, trans,(baker 6sp.) forks ect.. Thanks for your input. Also do you think the DVD's fix my hog will do the job? If so, would the softail version be the ticket.

Here's an idea, since you've obviously got internet access. Check out some of the other online forums related to bikes/choppers/HD.

Just do a basic search in google or yahoo, there are a bunch of forums out there that will be able to give you much better help than I can here. Here, this should give you a decent start. Lots of good folks on these boards that will be better equipped to answer some of your questions...

An engine is an engine when it comes to a new Evo from HD. After market can be different. Depending on bore and stroke.

Mounts for the Evo are the same. Its the Twin-Cam where there are differences...

Can you be more specific? Vibration on Decel really doesn't tell us much...
