I didn't know Teixeira was such a p**sy. And he's not too bright either. Why would Padilla want to load the bases with Gayroid coming up? The Rangers are in first place and are trying to win the game. Nonsense.

I thought Teixeira was wrong in this case. The Texas pitcher would have to be crazy to want to load the bases by hitting him on purpose. On the other hand, Tex's slide into 2nd base was far from clean.

Actually, the two have a history. Tex homered the first two times he ever faced Padilla ... and was plunked the third time. Also, they did not get along when they were teammates ... because Padilla plunked so many batters and Tex would get plunked in retaliation.

Crazy to load the bases? Really? It set up the double play ... that they almost got.

wow.... where to start.... first of all Tex is not a pussy... in fact, Tex for Prez.... Padilla intentionally hit Tex on the ass way inside... he's a solid pitcher with good control, he knew exactly where he was throwing it.... loading the bases for Arod was exactly the plan so that Arod would hit into a double play.... and guess what, he just about did... Tex's slide was clean... he had his hand on the bag... and Burnett is the man

Totally agree. Teams do this all the time. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.

If we are talking about pussy it was Posada running the bases and breaking the errorless streak other then that a great Yankees victory. By the way why not walk Tex to get to A-Rod, he hasn't been killing the ball lately. How many guys has he left on base lately? To many to mention.

..........I can not attest to the question of intent on this particular occasion, but do NOT accuse Padilla of being "a solid pitcher with good control". He could not find the plate if it was placed in front of him at the dinner table. The reason he is a lousy pitcher, is that he is always behind in the count.

after years of seeing pitchers like Sox Marinez plunk Jetes and whoever the Yanks #4 was with NO retribution or response (except the Zimmer body slam), it was about frigging time...

He has career ERA of 4.37.... I'm not saying he's Roy Halladay.... but he's been a starter for YEARS and won 14 games last year.... that ball was intentional and it's pretty obvious... but Padilla didn't make my fantasy team lol

Not to bright of a post. If you had any clue about baseball you would know that it was exactly what Padilla wanted to do. It almost worked! haha

did you watch the game, the ball was clearly aimed right for him. it was clearly intentional. not too much to complain about though as Padilla did it the right way, he threw at his a.ss, and not up near head. batters always say if you need to hit a guy, fine that's baseball but throw at the behind. Padilla did that.
twice is a bit annoying though.

on other hand it was nice to see a yankee pitcher protect his players. contrary to what i said earleir in dont throw at head, AJ's pitch was high but way overhead and was not meant to hit him. it was a messege pitch.

I know about baseball, however, you (like most mental midgets who post on Topix) don't know the difference between "to" and "too". Putz.
