I have to say, they're playing pretty well for a supposed bunch of geriatric, apathetic losers with whom no manager could ever hope to compete.

"Tim Lincecum's good, yes"

Anyway, great game by Pelfrey!

Typical roller coaster MESS fan. Ya just can't wait for the season to end before doing all the trash talking. Will you ever learn?????
I hate to say I told you so, but when the band wagon fans were looking to run Pelfrey out of town a few months ago, I, as a Yankee fan told you it was a big mistake. The guy is young and has great stuff.
Try to enjoy the games and maybe even learn something in watching them. These roller coaster highs and lows are for kids. The season doesn't end with every loss and you certainly don't get a WS ring with every win. The season is a marathon, NOT a sprint!!!
Enjoy the rest of the season!

Sorry bro I think your talking to the wrong guy here. Im one of the only people that kept faith with the team and players when people were calling for Delgado,Beltran>Pelfrey and everyone elses head. Ive tried to keep an objective opinion. Not too much one way not too much the other. I realize its a long season that why I would get pissed when people would say to DFA Delgadoa nd trade Beltan for a bag of balls. I realize those are knee jerk reactions by mets fans and you never heard me say anything like hat once. Please dont jusdge me unless youve seen all my other posts as well

Why coudn't they play like this for the past year? How could a team just sleep walk for that long before finally turning it back on?

Ah ... the great mystery. Someone (Manuel?) is getting through to the Carlos B. and he is being both aggressive and selective and someone (Manuel?) is convincing Carlos D. that he needs to step it up both offensively and defensively and rely on more than his past performances. Castillo is the example of taking action when production and $contracts$ are in conflict ... and Easley is playing very well as his replacement. The pitchers seem more relaxed and explosive without "the Jacket". And Reyes is getting on base and playing good "D". When the Mets pitch well and Reyes gets on base you have a great chance to win the game. There still is half a season left to play. Consistency is the goal right now.

It's obvious. Tom Nieto was the problem all along!

Now, will the real Santana show up tonight?

Hmmm, let's think for a minute...what's changed in the past month?

This team is playing better because it's finally getting some proactive leadership. All Randolph did from a coaching standpoint was bemoan his players' performance and say "Just hang in there, it'll turn around" (which it never did). Manuel is actually identifying problems and making corrections (for example, his streamlining of BP to focus on quality instead of quantity and Werthen letting the pitchers do what they're best at instead of conforming to some mold).
