Hits and Misses: Oct. 5, 2010

we'd prefer more small-town honesty than big-city machinations when it comes to local political endorsements.
When U lack district elections & the UCSC sheep decide ALL your elections, you can afford to ignore the issues.

"HIT" (?) for Simitian: It sounds like Simitian's legislation merely adds an addition "Pre-K" year of school to the existing K-12 calendar. With school budgets already in full meltdown, one has to wonder where the money will come for providing what is essentially a year of tax-funded day care forever.
"MISSES" on Budget Blues: Another trick for balancing the budget this year consists in selling off state property and then leasing it back. What agreat idea...think I'll sell my home now and then rent it from the buyer. I'll have some extra money for a while. Talk about kicking the can down the road!

The entire county is a backroom. Deals are made left and right, the politics in this county are vicious and do nothing for the people who pay the bills.
I think once the curse is broken and an outsider is elected the next time around there will be more outsiders being elected.
Vot for anybody else. Anybody. Just no republicans, no democrats. Not one. Let there be uncertainty in the great political houses. Let there be chaos. It won't last long and we will be able to take back the power. Power belongs to the people, not the privileged.

"Simitian's Kindergarten Readiness Act of 2010, signed last week by the governor, requires children be 5 years old to start kindergarten, and provides an additional year of "transitional kindergarten" for children with fall birthdays. California now joins the majority of states that require children to be 5 by Sept. 1. The change has long been sought by teachers, who say children younger than 5 are the ones most likely to flounder."
Ah, I see we have plenty of money to add even more pre-school jobs, classes (baby sitting services) for those not 5 years old increasing both teachers and SEIU employee positions/jobs! Yes, a good little Democrat pro-union spending freak! Vote for Democrats, they can deliver the jobs and benefits for the union employees!
Sorry taxpayers, cough up some more money for their pursuit of job security and votes! The economy is good and you can afford it!
