What is so frickin' tiring about baseball that they need to rest a professional athlete in the middle of the season? You play 2-1/2 hours a night four nights a week, at least half of which time you're sitting on your butt. Then you go stand in the field and if you're really busy, you get the ball hit to you six or seven times a game. Rest?! Rest from October to April.

Dave i ususally agree but not here no matter that he did not hit himself. the point is moral on the rest of the lineup knew he was there. If Reyes and Beltran was in our lineup then it would of been easier to rest a Wright . But right now you have to pick your spots better. I am not against him getting a day off but right now with all the loses and moral being down we need the threat at least.

Hone99. the athletes make it look effortless but you face a guy who pitches 85-100mph try to hit that little ball with the laces and a ball coming off a bat and your mind must be focus during that 2 1/2 hrs. its alot harder then you say. sure its not football,Basketball or hockey. But its alot harder then you make it sound. With all due respect i disagree.

Did you hear the rumor that Omar is talking to Toronto about a deal for Rio's .Thats sounds great but as I said many times before unless there's a Latino player available he won't make a deal? Sure he can say that Matt Holiday will cost them bucks to keep him but he's a solid ballplayer and is out of his league there in Oakland ,he's a national league player and worth the big bucks but Omar isn't going to rent him as they say because his contract is up at the end of this year but Rios on the other hand has a hefty contract to carry but Omar will go after him any way so we'll see what transpires in the comming weeks ? It will be sink or swim for the Mets and if thats the case get rid of Omar and all the present coaches and get someone that is willing to fight for his team andI mean it when I say fight because Manuel might think he's fighting when a play comes up but he just mouths off and walks back to the dug out .
Weneed help Omar and you better shake your butt to get it !

News Flash. Jerry Manuel is not perfect. Second-guessing after the fact is such a lame exercise. Last time I checked the Mets were in a virtual tie for first place. Given everything that has gone wrong this season it is amazing there hasn't been the locker room mutiny the press is attempting to instigate.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Aquarius

Avoid making promises today, or even believing in other people's promises. Today is not a good day to make commitments, as they are not likely to materialise. Taking risks is a no-no. Try to relax until the numbers are in your favour. Those pursuing their career will benefit.
