The Worst National Anthem Renditions

if you ask someone to sing national anthem that is NOT a good singer then you get what you deserve.AS in when Rosanne Barr sang it ,she is a funny woman not a professional singer.What did they expect? I couldn't sing it either, my voice is terrible.

Singing it is one thing but she didn't have to grab her crotch when she finished.

Steven Tyler before the AFC Championship was HORRIBLE.

Trouble is, that many "singers" just want to show off, instead of showing respect for the National Anthem.

However, it's also up to the people hiring them to decide who would be capable and willing to render this song well.

The majority of these people are liberals - it's not hard to screw up the NA when you despise America. It's their way of 'flipping the bird' so to speak to America and all that the NA and flag stand for, especially capitalism, yet none of them sang it for free I bet.

one of the hardest things , is to put a poem to music, and the choice of the score is indeed not meant for the normal human voice range ....

to sing it no matter how terrible , is a testimony to your loyalty to your country , it is how you portray that rendition a display of respect not a barroom mockery such Rosanne , or a waving to a camera wear a cap or using a cell phone

but as always we will get some disagreement

Maybe it would be better to just let the band play it (or the organ, if in a ball park), if they can't find a singer capable of rendering it decently. Going off-key, screwing up the lyrics or adding "fancy" stuff to show off one's voice do NOT belong with the National Anthem. It's simply a matter of respect.

I know what you mean when you say some of these national anthem singers are out to impress the crowd instead of making it a patriotic thing. I agree that these artists should be closely monitored or auditioned. It's easy to do and quite acceptable for such an assignment.

Roseanne Barr spitting and grabbing her crotch has to be the worst and most disrespectful act...

who ever was put in charge of asking these people to sing the national anthem should be held accountable for their actions. This song makes me want to stand up and place my hand on my heart and show how proud I am to be an american, and even if your not able to sing it well, you can tell when the singer feels the same way you do. the words to this song have so much meaning to what it took for america to become such a wonderful, free country, that you cannot just take it for granted, or make a joke out of it.
