Body Found In Submerged Car In Fort Riley Lake

This is just awful! My heart really sunk when I heard this. I wonder what happened. I will be sending our prayers to his family. Wow, just so sad to hear when a soldier dies. God bless

It may not be a man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,don't think they have said what the gender was. Hopefully they will quickly solve this crime and many can stop worrying who it might be.

The soldier the car was registered to PCS'ed 5 years ago and reported, as a single soldier, to his new duty station.The wife had disappeared before he left, but it's unknown whether she killed herself or if he was involved. He continued making car payments, either to help her out because the car was in his name or so that he wouldn't have to answer questions as to its whereabouts. The soldier in question can not be found, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Not being rude but where was this new info learned from? A site you can refer me too? This case is really sad and disturbing. I am relly sorrowful for the family.If it is a crime I hope justice is served.

So why has there been no official release of name.Or any thing I hope this isn't sweeped to the side this is so sad there have been alot of sucides and murders in this area.for the longest time but it is still so sad and you wonder why.Just like the poor girl in manhattan that was young and a military wife and then you heard no more about it.God bless those that put there life on the line but please get help if you feel that you can't control yourself!!!There is alot of help and don't feel like your not a tuff person to ask for help but to harm someone is a life time of true pain

I just wanted to give you all a little info..It was a female that was shot and killed by her husband(who was a soldier). He took her out there after shooting her and pushed the car into the lake, 5 years ago. The car and body were found by workers draining the lake. The man has been arrested. It has not been swept to the side, but it is still under investigation and is still considered classified information.

Just heard it was a spouse, the soldier murdered!! Now this just may be hear say. But its a definate possibility.

I live at fort riley they weren't draining. The lake a fisherman found the body. As far as I know the rest is accurate accept he is no where to be found.

army wife... I believe the media has said that it was fisherman that found the body... Actually, that is incorrect, they were draining the lake and a worker noticed the antennea and what he believed was the top of a vehicle. The car was removed and that is when the body was discovered.

This is very sad, but it makes you also wonder if, as an army spouse, can you realy trust your spouse after god knows how many deployments and the demons they deal with? I know i had my moments I prefered to keep my mouth shut rather then to speak my mind. North Carolina comes in mind and after every return from deployment there is something bad happening. I am sure neither of the spouses ever thought any of them would be capable of doing this.:( I am sorry for her and the family and I hope they will find him and justic is served! R.I.P.

Okay, actually we are both kind of right in this.... They didn't "drain" the lake completly, however there were workers up there lowering the water level of the lake. I have heard that either a worker or a fisherman thought they saw the antennae. But, some of the water had been drained and water level lowered.... But, the point is someone saw the car, and someone lost their life. Very sad.

Does anyone else find it odd that it has been two months now and there still has been no report as to the identity of the body and whether or not she was murdered or killed herself...

So, if classified...how is it that you are able to release any information that may/may not be related?
There is a lot of speculation related to this case. Not even Fort Riley officials have been involved, as of late.

Yes its odd, does it surprise me? NO!!!
Moon Lake had been under "construction" for a period of time and it asn't too long after it was reopened that this was discovered.
I've heard of another woman who was abused by her husband here and they protected him from a civilian arrest warrant, I wasnt here at the time but it was national news, it was around 2006 I think.
I know personally someone who was abused byher husband, although not severly as far as broken bones and such but there was physical abuse, nothing was done.
Soldiers are protected always UNLESS things become too public, its disgusting. I have lost much respect for the military and its ironic how they are the ones who are to protect us, from "all ememies foreign or domestic", I guess they just mean the actual soil.
Our country was founded on the idea of equality and justice for ALL. If actions dont reflect the constitution, then what the hell are we fighting for?

For an "army wife" you sure seem to know alot about the incident???

i went to that lake as a field trip in class now that i know this. it scares me to think that these studints still go there for a fieldtrip. because when and were did it happen and weres the killer.

Life is sad, Sad things happen all the time, most things never get out in the public.. But just the same, let sleeping ghost rest please.

Where is all this info coming from cause I am not finding any info but what is posted here. Also, I've been to moon lake and I am finding a tiny bit hard to believe that a car was submerged in that tiny "lake" for 5 years and no one noticed. My husband and his squad use to run around moon lake like every... tuesday... for several years. We had Org days with people canoeing(sp?) and no one noticed. I don't know... I just would like to some kinda of report or official update.
