An American, and Muslim, tragedy

Full story: www.cedartownstd.com

The breaking news about Fort Hood made me cringe. Like most Muslims, I hoped the shooter would be a Smith or Jones, while some smirked and gleefully waited for a Muslim name to say, I told you so.

Once again, this incident would highlight the polarized social relations in American society amid a national tragedy. American Muslims would be uncomfortable by intense media scrutiny, while others would have a field day maligning Islam and blaming Muslims.

If Major Nidal Malik Hasan were Robert Stewart, who committed mass killings at a nursing home in North Carolina, or Mike McLendon, who massacred his former co-workers in Alabama, it would be another tragic episode requiring a routine investigation and short-lived news coverage.

But the dynamics of this tragedy are much different and demand a full and thorough investigation for many unanswered questions: The alleged shooter did not just kill his co-workers; he killed the individuals who made a selfless commitment to defend the homeland, and thus all Americans.

The tragedy in Fort Hood leaves many unexplained variables.

Therefore, it must be investigated thoroughly, and media must report the facts regardless of peoples' insecurity or bigotry.

As a military veteran I know there are many proud and patriotic American Muslims serving their country in uniform.

News coverage should not make American Muslims uncomfortable. They bear no responsibility for the actions of a deranged individual.

Islam is simply demonic. The terrorist actions of muslim jihadists are sanctioned and infact actually mandated by the Koran.

Hence every true muslim is a potential terrorist. This is because dying in a jihad is what true muslims aspire to -- the islamic god (Allah, who is actually Satan himself) deceptively promises that this will provide immediate entry into heaven where sex and wine for eternity await these demonic and misled brutes.

America wake up. An American muslim bomber pilot based on a US aircraft carrier could wreak havoc by dropping his bunker busting bombs otherwise destined for Iran on the aircraft carrier itself. Watch out for the muslims in the US military.

Islam must be declared a terrorist organization, Period.

Islamabad = Islam is Bad
Allah = Satan.

I am a strict vegan. I know many Muslims and they are dear friends (Vegan, of course). My fiancee is Pakistani. However, seeing the way every ordinary Muslim is commanded to slit animal throats as a sacrifice to God, I am disgusted and horrified and will never convert to Islam in my life. Why must Muslims (most of which are not even butchers) sacrifice another beings' innocent life when instead they can make a sacrifice of themselves by working on building their character and helping the poor in more valuable ways? Animals have their own lives and thoughts and feelings. Why take something you can't return (a life), and particularly in such a horrible and degrading way where everyone stands and watches as it bleeds to death? Even CHILDREN witness this. It makes them desensitized to cruelty and violence. No wonder some Muslims behead people.

I know in the West people kill and eat animals, and since I am a vegan I VEHEMENTLY oppose this as well. However, the way murder is COMMANDED in the Quran as a sacrifice to God, that everyone must partake in such a sacrifice, and the manner of cruelty involved is absolutely outrageous and appalling. There was a quote I once read, paraphrased along the lines of, "Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is more valuable to the child's life than even the caterpillar's." The way Muslim children are brought up to lack compassion is a terrible shame. I feel sorry for the animals as well as the poor children whose hearts are hardened. Children need to be taught love, empathy, and compassion. God Bless the little ones.
