Fantasy world is fun, but you should try the real world sometime for facts. Fascists do crap like that. Socialist or Fascist? It bothers me a little when conservatives call Barack Obama a "socialist." He certainly is an enemy of the free market, and wants politicians and bureaucrats to make the fundamental decisions about the economy. But that does not mean that he wants government ownership of the means of production, which has long been a standard definition of socialism. What President Obama has been pushing for, and moving toward, is more insidious: government control of the economy, while leaving ownership in private hands. That way, politicians get to call the shots but, when their bright ideas lead to disaster, they can always blame those who own businesses in the private sector. Politically, it is heads-I-win when things go right, and tails-you-lose when things go wrong. This is far preferable, from Obama's point of view, since it gives him a variety of scapegoats for all his failed policies, without having to use President Bush as a scapegoat all the time. Government ownership of the means of production means that politicians also own the consequences of their policies, and have to face responsibility when those consequences are disastrous -- something that Barack Obama avoids like the plague. Thus the Obama administration can arbitrarily force insurance companies to cover the children of their customers until the children are 26 years old. Obviously, this creates favorable publicity for President Obama. But if this and other government edicts cause insurance premiums to rise, then that is something that can be blamed on the "greed" of the insurance companies. The same principle, or lack of principle, applies to many other privately owned businesses. It is a very successful political ploy that can be adapted to all sorts of situations. One of the reasons why both pro-Obama and anti-Obama observers may be reluctant to see him as fascist is that both tend to accept the prevailing notion that fascism is on the political right, while it is obvious that Obama is on the political left. Back in the 1920s, however, when fascism was a new political development, it was widely -- and correctly -- regarded as being on the political left. Jonah Goldberg's great book "Liberal Fascism" cites overwhelming evidence of the fascists' consistent pursuit of the goals of the left, and of the left's embrace of the fascists as one of their own during the 1920s. Mussolini, the originator of fascism, was lionized by the left, both in Europe and in America, during the 1920s. Even Hitler, who adopted fascist ideas in the 1920s, was seen by some, including W.E.B. Du Bois, as a man of the left..... He should agree to release more of his tax returns, only if Obama unseals his college records. Simple and straight-forward. Mitt should ask “What could possibly be so embarrassing in your college records from 29 years ago that you are afraid to let America’s voters see? If it’s THAT bad, maybe it’s something the voters ought to see. If anyone should have questions about Obama’s record at Columbia University, it’s me. We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of ’83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I’d heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia have ever met him, saw him, or heard of him. But don’t take my word for it. The Wall Street Journal reported in 2008 that Fox News randomly called 400 of our Columbia classmates and never found one who had ever met Obama. Do you know him personally, or is it just a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Sleazy goes well with Obama. It is synergistic. "Obama has been less than honest about many things. Some of his biggest distortions should be the subject of sustained soul- searching on the part of the media. For instance, as New York Times reporter Janny Scott first reported over a year ago, Obama lied about his cancer-stricken mother being denied coverage for her pre-existing condition. Yes, he was close to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and former terrorist Bill Ayers. Yes, he was a member of the socialist New Party (as my National Review colleague Stanley Kurtz has documented). In the spirit of charity, some of the lies can be chalked up, at least in part, to fanciful family narratives. Obama claims his maternal grandfather fought in Patton’s army and liberated Nazi death camps. He says his paternal grandfather was tortured by the British imperialists in Kenya. He’s claimed his Indonesian stepgrandfather was killed by the Dutch while fighting for independence. None of that is true. What I find more interesting are the lies Obama tells not so much about himself, but about society. In “Dreams from My Father,” Obama tells readers that he struggled with racism and racial alienation all his life. He wasn’t a starter on his high school basketball team because he played “black” while his coach coached “white.” He confabulated a black friend in high school who, like himself, was shunned for racial reasons. He wrote of a “big fight” with a white ex-girlfriend who, after seeing a racially charged play,“started talking about why black people were so angry all the time.” As Maraniss methodically shows, these and other tales of racial woe were false. His coach didn’t start him because he wasn’t good enough to start. His friend in high school was half-Japanese, not black, and neither of them were racially ostracized. The girlfriend, Genevieve Cook, never saw the play and never said anything of the sort. And so on. Jonah Goldberg Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolu... Sleazy works.

The laughing liberal wrote: So Much For That Gutsy Call… Obama Canceled Operation to Kill Osama 3 Different Times – Then Waited 16 Hrs to Make Call Posted by Jim Hoft Monday, July 30, 2012 We already knew that it took Barack Obama 16 hours to make the call to go after Bin Laden at his hideout in Pakistan. But, now we know, it took much longer than that. Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions, before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission. Israel National News reported: According to a new book, President Obama canceled operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions, due to instructions of aide At the urging of senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission, according to a new book scheduled for release August 21, The Daily Caller (DC) reported. In “Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors who Decide for Him,” Richard Miniter writes that Obama canceled the mission in January 2011, again in February, and a third time in March. Valerie Jarrett, a senior advisor and assistant to the president for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, reportedly persuaded Obama to hold off each time, the book reveals, according to The DC. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/07/so-mu... Obama waited 16 hours to make a decision. But insiders say by then Obama had been given an ultimatum by military strategists whether to take credit for the operation as chief, or not. That was his only decision. They had decided the time was ripe to get OBL in hiding before he escaped and over-ruled Obama's hesitancy. So much for Obama's decision-making and authority. Obama finally decided to take credit for the operation and escaped to the golf green on Jarrett's recommendation in case the ops went wrong. They brought him in kicking and screaming in his golf shoes and had to photoshop Obama into the Situation Room. The ridiculous part is Obama rushed to the mike and went whole hog taking credit for the operation once it was declared successful. It was a complete disaster, military secrets given away, the Pakistani government flipping out over the invasion of their airspace. They immediately arrested one of their citizens for assisting military intel. This doctor had no time to escape after the ops was completed. The role Obama played in the operation was in dumping the body overboard to appease Al Quaida and delaying the decision for 16 hours so slum lord Valerie could try to send warning to OBL. She's no intelligensia, just a politicking amateur from Chicago with mob connections to Tony Rezko.
