Full story: TheDailyBeast.com

Who Minding the planes?
It surely isn't the airline.

When you give away your work, you give away the control over how the work gets done. Someone signed off on those sandwiches, and the maintenance gets signed off the same way. When things go terribly wrong... the paper chase is the airline executives best friend. Let the finger pointing begin.

What ever happened to life insurance booths at the airports? They're needed now more than ever.
The fear of flying seems to have dissipated, but the fear should be more real now, then ever before. They are all flying on a borrowed safety record. They have turned a once proud industry in to an airborne subway system.

Fly safe and don't forget too chew your food as if your eating what someone just caught today.

Yep, rumor has it that RA was seen sneaking the AMS catering facility. How low can that guy go? Why don't you sponsor a sit-in at DL HDQ?

This is really a non-issue. Food is contaminated and recalled in the USA quite often. Mistakes happen whether it's a third party contractor of the airline. It certainly wasn't a security issue. What is someone going to do with a pin?

Just received the new book "Attention All Passengers" by William Magee..Looks like another malcontent has joined the ranks. I'll let you know how it turns out but from what I have read so far he says its not all honkey doree as ong and sfb claim.

I'll pick that one too. I read everything I can find on the subject. Have you read Crash & Burn? Just ordered a new called Flight for Control. It's Authored by an NWA pilot. The book is written as a fiction book, but it sounds like the plot is very close to real. this pilot still flys for delta, and probably put the fiction twist on it to stay out of trouble.
