Daddy Licks Band reunion to honor fallen 'team player'
No one quite remembers whose idea it was to ask Scott Hott to join the Daddy Licks Band in late 1980.

Great story. I'm trying to find out if it would be possible to purchase or get ahold of a recording of Daddy Licks' Allentown radio show from Novemer 82. Anyone got any ideas -- it is for a good friend's 40th birthday.

The Daddy Licks were my first favorite local band. I remember in 1982 at age 14 standing on a friend's porch blasting a tape of the song, "I Got Wheels." Despite having to work at a local radio station at 6am Sunday I will pull an all nighter and attend this event. Get my drink on to the DL, go to a diner for a few hrs, freshen up and mosey on into the studios by 6am! Whoo!!!

Sharon,
Are you still looking for a copy of this show recording? I may know someone who has a copy; a friend was once an engineer for WZZO in Allentown and was a big Licks fan.

Crock Rock will only properly promote hair metal has been bands. Other bands may get booked but the venue will not publicize them to the best of their ability due to their bias towards the metal/rap genre. |

Buck, Where have you been? Hope you remember me. I'm the guy who used to come and record the shows live. I did one at Jimmy's Run in Allentown, One at The House of Web in the Poconos and one at the Brass Hearth in Easton. You fixed my blue Caprice for me once and I used to dance with April while you played (to keep her out of trouble). Scott Hott and I used to call each other Mr. President...an inside joke. I still have those gigs on reel-to-reel and cassette. Whenever I pull them out it reminds of the best years of my life. I was at the Mayfair show on Memorial Day and believe or not I tore my achilles tendon dancing. I am just back on my feet after six weeks and am thinking about going to the show tonight...no dancing though. Hope you are well. I work at Prudential Paul Ford Raltors in Easton if you want to have a beer sometime. |

Contact Neil Hever at neil@wdiy.org. He has compilations of the old LV music scene called anglophile. He may also have the ep you are in search of.

I worked at a radio station in State College, PA back in the day and we gave the DLB EP quite a bit of airplay. Also, I had the opportunity to see them play live at the Phyrst, the Brewery, and I believe there was a joint in the ally called the Scorpion where they played as well. DLB always put on a great show and they were cool as hell, always hanging out after the show and knockin back beers. Sorry to hear about Scot.
