Cop charged with having sex with boys
“We are concerned about the alleged victims in this case and Tom and his family.”
NORWALK - A senior Norwalk police lieutenant was charged yesterday with having sex with two 15-year-old boys and trying to lure another to his Dreamy Hollow condominium, police and court officials said.
Lt. Thomas Cummings, a 24-year department veteran, turned himself over to Stamford police yesterday morning and was charged with three counts of enticing a minor, two counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of risk of injury to a minor, his three arrest affidavits show.
The state's attorney's office in Stamford is continuing its investigation, and more charges could be added. Read more

It is very sad that a man of such high power would take advantage of these young boys, he knows what he did is wrong he is a police officer and knows the very well thwhat he was doing was wrong. he should be prosecuted to the fullest

1 I don't think that a 15 yr. old would 'seduce' him... I mean, they are old enough to know what sex is, but they don't know 'enough'. The adult knows better; should have been more of a role-model too... I don't know, this is odd.. I do see why you're 'torn'.... |

God no, because our country is so FUCKED up and paranoid about sexualizing children, even though 15-year-olds are NOT children......(other than in the eyes of the law - fucked up.) Can you tell I have strong feelings about this?? |

How can Norwalk allow his cop to resign to only retain his benefits??? How is that justice?? His benefits should be revoked and he should have been fired! He clearly violated other rules besides that and they could have terminated him on those grounds. Like using the city's computer to access his perverted manhunt website for his own jollies...taxpayers money hard at work again with NPD... How is he worthy of any leniency

I knew Tom, he's a nice man and was pursued by these guys. When he turned this one kid down the kid started emailing and calling him constantly. Finally Tom tried to put and end to it and this kid threatened to ruin his career. It's a shame, a real shame.

So what excuse is Tom using for the other boys that have and will come forward. I think he's got you fooled with all his bull!!! Yeah, he turned them down when?? after he used his influence to get what he wanted from them. Please, it does not matter if he "didn't want" to be sexually involved with a 15 year old. He was and the point is...IT'S A CRIME and he needs to be punished for it. And the LT & SGT that are now being linked to all of this...i guess they didn't do anything either, these kids just picked name out of a hat to get these "perfectly decent" cops in trouble. NOw if none of this were true, the Det. Sgt wouldn't have been ripped out of the Bureau and thrown back on patrol. Cummings is NOT a nice guy, he's a child predator hiding behind a "Nice guy" facade. |

Why was it so important to quickly get him to resign so the perp could get his pension? Total fraud. I agree with the above posting. It just makes the police dept and union in Norwalk look even worse. |

Because if you were arrested they wouldn't take your social security, plus his kids can now have access to the retirement, remember they are victims too, should they go on welfare? Maybe after 24 years of service, the ex wife and kids shouldn't be punished more. Also, innocent until proven guilty.
