You're right, as usual. And for years and years our manufacturers have known it. But that didn't stop them from building SUV's and over sized pick up trucks. That's coming back to haunt them and has pushed their backs against the wall, as well as the employees.

Options have been anything from mass transit, bikes, walking (imagine that) and a host of others. The government being little more than an arm of Exxon and other powerful companies are constantly searching for profitable ways, not practical ways.

A lot of times it comes down to the "board room". Those who sit in board rooms have only one target, one goal, and that's to make more profits for the corporation. If an executive sat down in one of those big cushy seats and talked about how to address the environmental issues they'd be pushing a broom in 10 minutes.

CoolMind were you referring to not making cars out of steel and using composite materials? Or just the fact that ANY BIG wasteful cars are of the past?
