That is a good question. How do you start doing something like this and advertise it so that so many women would want it done? New generation, new concerns?

I hate to judge, but I have to wonder about the parents of the 16 yr old girls paying for this surgery. Its condoning sexual activity at an early age, isn't it?

I understand it (heck, I would love to get a breast reduction myself), but I don't agree with it.

The loss of sensation alone does not make it worthwhile.

why would any girl want this done?? anyone who thinks a full, thick labia isnt attractive needs their head examined. the world and its perception of beauty is sickening.

i hope that everyone who ever made a girl feel bad or self-conscious about her meaty labia gets some sort of sick physical deformity like lepracy and is shunned and jawed by the rest of the superficial society.

Hmmm, I am not sure it is directly condoning it. Even being in a swimsuit in front of their girl peers makes some of these poor girls feel very insecure about that region being a little more accentuated.

True, I hadn't thought of it that way. The article pointed out that teenage boys watch porn and are now more judgemental towards the teenage girls because of it. So I guess thats where my mind set went. I could definitely understand if it was a camel toe situation, I hate when that happens! And bathing suits are the worst!

Okay, my ex did say something about seeing many vaginas in pornos and none of the women having labia as large as mine....

Lnc... oh there are a few surgeries to alter the penis... fat injection, the severing of a tendon inside the body to allow the penis to be extended, but I was referring to one of the oldest cosmetic surgeries... the removal of a boys' foreskin.

Sorry about Hijacking the thread there...But in the end, people can do what they want to themselves... People should obviously learn to love themselves as long as it isn't a medical problem.

Unfortunately, we live in a very shallow world where there's a ton of pressure on kids... if this surgery is being sponsored by adults for teens??? that's crazy. If an adult wants to have it done?? what can you do...

Yeah but fish it never started that way now it's just the "norm" so many parents do it just b/c it is the "Normal thing to do"

And I totally agree with you on the circumcision issue, completely unnecessary. Its the 'locker room' syndrome.
I have 2 boys and refused to get it done. My first son was born at the Indian hospital, its against their belief to circumcise. Two weeks after he was born my family and husband at the time threw such a fit that I finally gave in. Torture!!
The second was the same situation, but done at a non-Indian hospital the same day he was born. Its such a stupid thing to do in these times. We don't have hygiene issues like they did 100 years ago, we don't need to force our kids through that. I regret allowing it, but everyone else was so passionate about having it done for some reason?
