Full story: t.co

As thousands of additional veterans seek mental health care every month, the Department of Veterans Affairs is short of psychiatrists, with 20% vacancy rates in much of the country served by VA hospitals, according to department data.

Some new Veterans are being told wait times to see a Dr. could be months! Other have been told you will get a call when a Dr. can see you! Some have just given up and deal with the pain and botted up feelings inside......

There is more then a short fall in Dr;s - I see working staff from office workers to Nurese leaving for better pay and less hours!

Many VA centers and Hospitals are in NEED of staff and Dr's of ALL kinds!
Long delays to see a Dr's is getting like fliling a claim wait and wait for months to see any one!
Today at the VA in Oklahoma *New veterans were told to go home and wait for a letter saying when they can see a Dr. There was at least 50+ veterans who turned and left and some stayed to ask questions but were told sorry there was nothing NO one could do!

Hmmm sounds to me like 1975 end of Vietnam War and VA so over loaded they turned veterans away for months and some never came back!

The VA NOW on veterans who are in the system and do not need care can't see a Dr.at the va for 6 months - some can't see a Dr for one year unless he or she is in need of care - illness or ???

Your meds will be filled if you run out by phone to the dr's office nurse and sent to the dr for reneweal - so even the reg vet is placed on hold!

The Emergency room is over full and once you see deck cleark you told to see your primery Dr first!

So it' a wait no matter what NOW ......

You bring up all the horrors of what happens there but who is doing something about this? I would be in touch with my congress person ASAP. I would be writing the newspapers or anything to get national attention on this so do it!

What else is not helping to get GOOD Dr.'s to the VA is PAY - starting pay is $56,000 to $96,000 a year - Long hours - Most who have been a Dr for any time at all is looking at NO weekends and NO on call - Hours more like 9 AM to 5 PM - With the VA it's 8 AM till? my own Dr. has stayed to see veterans way after 7 pm - A Dr in prim care could see over 400 vets in one day! They the Dr's are to turn over a vet every 15 min's - and still have lunch and still see the ones who came in as walk inns.

Most say NO way on working for the VA unless he is NEW and in need of a job

The GI is knocking at the VA door 24/7 because many of the GI were excessively mind drugged and damaged as a result of the falsehood of the mental health industry. Many wartime injuries are the result of the willfully drugging the GI. Same with the higher death rates. Read on the web. They caused the problem.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Libra

Going shopping today? Then don't be surprised if you splash out on items that are that little bit different from your usual purchases. For instance, if you set off for the supermarket you might end up buying lots of exotic ingredients so you can experiment with them. This is unlikely to get out of hand unless you're feeling bored or fed up, in which case you'll want to spend your way out of your current mood.
