Dr. Oz, Andrew Wakefield and others, um, 'honored' by James Randi

Full story: Portland's CW32 KRCW -TV

We doubt that either Dr. Oz or Andrew Wakefield will be proudly displaying these honors on their mantelpieces: Both received "Pigasus Awards" this April 1 from the James Randi Educational Foundation for the dubious honor of being among the "5 worst promoters of nonsense." Dr.

Paul offit award, the man of century, the vaccine pusher, the one that hold the patents and made millions. Authors books on autism, hahaha... How appropriate. I bet you he can not sleep safely at night at least Wakefield does.

NOW this is off topic.
FRIEND you have no room to be calling other people trolls.

Might I suggest next year you nominate anyone you like but as far as today goes, lets stick to who did get the Pigasus award....
Mr. Wakefield got his Pigasus in the "Refusal to Face Reality" category. Might be able to fool an anti-vaxxer but you can fool the general public about him!

On the opposing side of the argument you have a a former playboy bunny who makes a living exposing her large silicon breasts and has a love of injecting poison into her face to retain her youthful appearance telling you vaccines are bad. Is this really the sort of person you should be getting you health care advice from?
I am waiting for someone to find a link between breastfeeding with silicon implants and autism. Of course it wouldn't change that loons mind, she will still blame vaccines.

Did you know that McCarthy ran the website IndigoMoms.com , was of the belief that her son was a 'crystal child,' and she herself is an 'adult indigo.' She suggests that 'indigo/crystal phenomenon is the next step in our evolution as a human species.' Proponents also suggest that many indigo and crystal children are wrongly diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, and autism. You can still see her old website on the wayback machine: http://www.archive.org/

Just goes to show that sometimes plastic bints are only as intelligent as they look.

Keep on bashing Dr Wakefield.

It is not due to Dr Wakefield that public is scared of vaccinating.

It is due to regressive autism shortly after vaccination.

There are thousands of people who have reported the same facts, regression into world of autism, shorlty after vaccination.

It is only donkeys who keep saying and thinking may be just a coincidence.

Talk about Wakefield ignorama, when you support Paul Offit who patents them, authors books and get paid for R&D by millions of dollards.

It is too late to change people mind in rgerads to immunization when there are thousands out there who have lost their kids due to immunization.

If you believe in vaccines, double shot your kids, they should be better protected if you believe in them so much

No one said anything about supporting Paul Offit but when comparing him to Mr. Wakefield, Mr. Wakefield also has patents for vaccines and wrote a book and got paid highly by attorneys. But isn't it crazy he didn't appeal the court ruling which took his license to practice being a doctor??? He choose to hide out in the USA. I guess he thought his supporters would be enough? Not.

Your point?

And what a dumb thing to say, double vaccine your child. This Raymond promotes abuse of medicine.

Well Friend if you think vaccines are so safe why not get two or three sets of shots?
DR Offit says a child 6 mo. old can handle 10,000 vaccines all at the same time.
so whats the problem?

As for Offit, keep up the good work being an anti vaxxer and taking what people say out of context. Some people do need more than one vaccine, those who didn't build immunity from the first, so in fact it's not that uncommon and it is in fact every one's choice. You cant stop that choice. And as a true anti vaxxer, let's not address those patents, books or attorney's.
Might I suggest next year you nominate anyone you like but as far as today goes, lets stick to who did get the Pigasus award....

A skeptic is someone who accept quality evidence irrespective of where it takes them. Evety skeptic I know has changed theirs minds on 1 or more subjects due to the evidence. Magicians make the perfect skeptics as their trade is to deceive people homestly. This means they can quickly see through deception, either deliberate or unintentional.

The difference between Offit and Wakefield is simple - honesty.

Yes Paul Offit makes money from a vaccine he helped invent but it was for Rotavirus that there were no vaccines for. Each year rotavirus causes millions of cases of diarrhoea in developing countries, almost 2 million resulting in hospitalisation and an estimated 611,000 resulting in death.

Wakefield was paid by lawyers to find a link between autism and MMR vaccines. When he could not find one he fabricated his results then went to the media. His intent was to discredit an existing safe vaccine so he could then market vaccines he had developed.

There is no link between MMR and autism past the fact that the last MMR shot occurs around the time symptoms of autism appear. You can just as easily blame Teletubbies and Barney for autism. Association does not mean causation.

If vaccines were the cause then we should have already seen a decline in autism rates due to the removal of thimerosal around 2000. Autism is a genetic disorder, not an evironmental one.

Mark you make me laugh. You're as dumb as friend. Read the Genome Project report from 2010 that found autistic children they studied from around the world, had genetic mutation that didn't originate with their parents. I know that mega-statement has been ignored by the media and mainstream medicine, because it doesn't support the lies they have made part of the autism myths. Maybe you and friend want to guess what happens to these babies between birth and 3 years that cause mutation. Do a websearch of mercury and spontaneous genetic mutation. Do one for alumimum. Do a search for both and endocrine disruption, and another about these neuro-toxins.
Paul Offit is a corporate stooge. He's not able to understand the damage his cronies do. Not having the science to prove the connection doesn't mean there is none. As for your other statements, its obvious you know only what the media has brainwashed into your head. G'day

Could not agree more wholeheartedly. In fact, more research was published in yesterday's papers regarding vaccines and spontaneous genetic mutation and autism.

It is inconceivable that we have a literal epidemic of a condition that was considered rare just a few decades ago or that that epidemic is not related to such a factor as vaccinations.

Researchers have concluded that conventional medications are of almost no help to autistic children. They found that secretin doesn't work in autism and that anti-psychotics and anti-depressants cause side effects that make them unacceptable along with not being very effective. They also found that behavioral therapies can be helpful for some children, but don't work for every child and that no one can predict which children might benefit from them. None of these treatments address the cause of autism so autism essentially goes untreated when people rely on conventional programs.

People with autistic children may find very valuable help for them through homeopathic treatment. For more information, see "Impossible Cure" by Amy Lansky and the video "From Within Without" on You Tube and the other videos there by Dr. Luc De Schepper.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
