Dark green stool

I am 49 years old man.
Since starting september, I have noted my stool show dark green. Sometimes diarreah and sometimes not. I went to a doctor and he gave me a conviotic during 2 weeks, but still I have the dark green stool. Then he told me go to a gastroenterologo, so for that reason I am asking about this issue.
Exams show: not parasitic
stool culture show:
heavy growth escherichia coli
i am resistant ampicillin and tetracycline.
Blood exam: lymphocytes 67
I did'nt take yet the exam for blood in the stool, because the doctor did not ask about it.
what is escherichia coli?
why I still have dark green stool? or what cause the dark green stool.

I wanted to know... My stool is very dark in color sometimes black sometimes green. The mucus around the stool is also yellowish in color. I dont have reg. movements? Please advise!!

Well i have been having dark green stool for about 2 weeks now. But i and not constipated or anything like that. And i woul like to know why , and I would like to find out why. If you have any answers please reply.

for about 3 months i have stsrted having stomach pain and getting sick of my stomach and been having diarrhea for about 3 months some times real dark green went to have an upper gi and lower gi and the doctor said i had polyps in my stomach and the walls of my coloan was thin doctor said he dident think it was cancer but sent samples of my polyps and coloan off for a BI. i have no controll of my bowels every thing goes right through me if i dont eat it's mot so bad can you tell me what can be going on.

E.Coli is part of natural enteric flora and can aid in digestion. It can also become unbalanced in relation to other enteric flora and cause problems. Hope the website helps with the color questions.

my stool was moldly dark green. before I visited the bathroom the left of my adormal was in pain. after visiting the bathroom, the pain lessen a little but it come back around half an hour later. today is day two and my left adormal still hurts and I felt like I am unable to do business even though everyday before today I have been visiting the bathroom.

ive beeen having dark green stoool! its been happenning for a bout 5 days now... i had the stomach flu , now its gone and im left with dark green poo. why???

Escherichia coli is more commonly called e-coli.

so, what is the diagnosis?

I and 50 yrs and for 1 wk i noticed dark green bowels,what it tht abt?? i have had diarea before but not this! Very concerned. There is no pain first I thought pendix but I have no pain just Forest Green Bowels, WHY??????

i got the broplem more tha one year i went hospital dr sayd u don;t have any diases but still i have mucous in my stool above 30%mucuse in my stool plz tell me what is the couse ,

I think everyone who is concerned would get better results by calling your local ER or your doctor. this place is full of crap!!!

I have the same thing first black then darker than olive green since a child constipation.

I have been constipated since a child . I am now 71. I had black stool then green thats darker than olive green. what is the cause. I have made an appointment for a colonocopy

Any take pepto bismol the day before... that'll impact the color (as well as the chewable ones if you take them at night after brushing and don't brush again it'll turn your mouth black)

I have been going through the same thing these past 3 months, with me I noticed it was drinking milk and any dairy, also it could be IBS.
