I found a good source about Albuterol inhalers - http://purchasedrugs24.com/product/albuterol.... At this site I found a lot of useful information - how to take, side effects, description, dosage, etc.
Ignore the misleading picture of Warrick CFC albuterol on the link- it's HFA- NOT CFC albuterol.

The Pro Air does not help me much, and my husband is actually more affected by inhalers as he has asthma while I have COPD. My husband notices much more than I that the Pro Air does not work nearly as well as the Armstrong did. And of course the 3x cost is harmful. I will be trying to contact Armstrong, but doubt we can do much. As I am a senior, my president and the democrats don't really care as they'd prefer me to be dead even though I worked 50 years.

OK I am now on an all out war with not only the environmentalists but what they love most. First a hot water heater that doesn't heat, then a toilette that doesn't flush and now medication that doesn't work.

Well you know what, screw the environment, I will do everything I can to piss those peopole off from this point on, I am dumping my oil in the freaking storm drains...

I too lost out on the original albuterol, so I purchased what was supposed to be the real thing thru a canadian pharmacy, via CHINA, AND WHAT i GOT WAS SALBUTAMOL 200 metered doses which isn't as good as albuterol but gets me by! I think I paid less than $60 for 3 200 metered doses! Beats the hell out of 30 metered doses!!

I too am very frustrated with the change from the old inhaler to pro air. I thoought it was just me till I read these posts, as you all know the proair lasts less than half the time the old one did, the old ones you could tell when they were getting low not proair no warning just no medicine I am lucky if a proair lasts me 6 days and I can't get a refill till 14 days from the last one so I have to use priamatene mistwhich alot of people have died from as it is not strong enought to help copd people & easy to overdose on, I think the government is practing mass genocide on seniors by allowing this to happen, get rid of people on SS by reducing their meds, this is not the only medication SS has us over a barrel on.

My Dr has only been giving me 2 or 3 refills at a time and makes me come back in for a check. I have been doing without anything because Proair and all the others don't work. The old one worked instantly and it wasn't making my ashthma worse but with each new inhaler I get my lungs take a step down. This happened while Bush was in office so if you are blaming the Obama or the environmentalists - dont - big industry can pollute, but for the people who are a weight on the medical system lets kill them off. The elite dont want the sick to take care of because they will want affordable medicine and insurance!!!!

OK so has anyone tried this place yet? Any results? Hell if I have to drive to Canada and buy this shit I will but I would love to know if there is a online drug store that still has the old Warrick inhalers to sell outside the US. I can't believe this has been going on for years and I just found out about this the hard way...I finally ran out. I had 10 at one time. Only used them for emergency. Ran low, I was down to one and my doctor gave me this other crap. Just like you folks, it did not work. I thought I was doing something wrong. WTF. I can't believe this shit. The FDA would rather kill people now them wait for the environment to do it 1000 years from now? It's so wrong. So where can I get this stuff??? Anyone?

Thought it was just me and glad to find out I'm not the only one. Am using more of the Proair than Dr. wants, but it just isn't doing the job. Combination of other ihalers helps, but wish we could get the Albuterol again.

There has to be something we can do about this. I understand the impact on the environment but what about the impact on human life. As a newly uninsured asthmatic I can not afford to pay three times the cost of Albuterol for an inhaler that seems to not have as much medication or last as long. This is not right. This has created an opportunity for drug manufacturers to get rich off of legislation. How can we fight this? eric_magidson@hotmail.com.
I am with all of you, I can't believe that they just decided what was right for us...Before Killing us, fix the rest of our envirorments problems first....I can't use the proAir..it make me cough really bad...I am now using an old inhaler that I had...it expired in 2009...but it is the only thing that gives me relief...I don't know what I will do, when it is done......

If anyone out there has any ideas, as to what we can do as a group to change this please let me know, I am in!

I too have been screwed by the VA. The ProAir is worthless in comparison to Proventil, and the despinser has busted my lip due to the design several times.

FDA phases out inhaler due to environmental impact

..WASHINGTON (AP)— Federal health officials are alerting asthma patients that a type of inhaler sold over the counter will be phased out at year's end because it uses carbon gas that depletes the Earth's atmosphere.

The Food and Drug Administration says patients who use the epinephrine inhalers will need to switch to other types of inhalers which are only available with a doctor's prescription. The Epinephrine inhalers subject to the ban use chlorofluorocarbons to propel medication into the patient's airways.

The FDA finalized plans to phase out the products in 2008 and currently only Armstrong Pharmaceutical's Primatene mist is still available in the U.S. Other manufacturers have switched to an environmentally-friendly propellant called hydrofluoroalkane. These inhalers treat the same asthma symptoms but are only available via prescription.

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
