How did any of us ever survive to adulthood before the wonderful, all powerful, all knowing, liberals came to save us all from smoking??? With all these damn liberals running around taking away rights, I am thinking parents didn't do ENOUGH smoking around their kids!!!

Nobody cares about or would want to save your sorry arse... just our own lives, nimrod. But then the nicotine addled brain cannot apprehend even the most obvious of facts.

Maybe it is a struggle for you to survive and you might need to be told what to do...but for the clear thinking informed folks...we simply do not want to "deal" with the smoke or this habit any longer, when in public! I don't need anyone to tell me that I hate smoke wafting in my face when out to eat! It is a shame that smokers cannot recognize themselves that their habit is obnoxious and a public nuisance to so many others, and need the masses or the authorities explain it to them!

If I don't want to deal with the smell of womans perfume, should I be able to ban it?? If I don't like smell of certain laundry detergent, and some I am allergic to, should I be able to ban it?? If I don't like the smell of car exhaust, should I be able to ban cars??

If you get 80% of the nation behind you on it, then go for it! Look I get your point, but what is important is, there is a serious health issue at hand, although many who smoke do not admit or believe it, the fact is that all legitimate doctors and medical researchers believe that to be the case, and that is good enough for most Americans...that is unless someone is on the losing end! And one stinky woman with too much perfume or strong certain type of laundry detergent will not affect an entire room...on the other hand, one medium sized restaurant with one single smoker will completely change the ambiance of the entire establishment, and not in a positive way! The bulk of Americans do not have a strong issue with perfume, and I have not met anyone who has been bothered by laundry detergent...but I can tell you this...I can even promise you this, if most legit researchers said the aroma coming from a woman's perfume or someone with soap was in some way unhealthy, you can bet you bottom dollar that it would be put under scrutiny, now couple that with claims that Channel #5 has been directly linked to cancer and heart disease...and I will tell you that we wouldn't see that product any longer!

So you are against free rights then.. At least we are on the same page here.. You do realize when the smoking bans were proposed, most of the protests came from people who were workers, and enjoyed their right to smoke at their place of business???
