I have been diagnosed by my dermatologist with molloscum in my pubic area. I have no idea where i got it from .It appeared about 6 months into my relationship with my girlfriend. she has no signs or symptoms of molloscum and has never had it in her past . according to the research ive done you can only get molloscum by coming in contact with someone who has it and contacting there molloscum. So how could i get this from my sexual partner if she has no signs of it . I am undergoing treatment to get rid of it but once it is gone will ii still be contagious?

Hey Chris, Im not a doctor by any means, im just another person losing his mind over molluscum...I got molluscum in my pubic region, it pains me to say this, but after more than 5 months of sexual INactivity...I did however sleep in numerous questionable Hostels in Europe and even in a train station or two...and spent 9 weeks training with the military...Regaurdless, I have had it since Oct 06, and its now Jan 07...I have been getting the cryotherapy which sucks and using tea tree oil(not medically proven) It APPEARS to be gone, but I have no idea if it is, i see little red dots and dont know if they are a reaction to the tea tree oil or they are new molluscum spots. I am hoping it is gone, after 8 months of abstinence im starting to get fed up with molluscum and hope its gone. Anyway, I was told by my Derm. that I should wait a month or two after seeing my last spot to become sexually active again, just in case, and that he said there is a rare chance it will randomly re appear in a few months. So in short, once its gone, it should be GONE and you have little to worry about. Lets hope for everyones sake that thats the truth. Good Luck to us both ehh? I hope some day some doctor somewhere cares enough about molluscum and comes up with an actual cure, not a "Its nothing to worry about, it should go away on its own." cure. We put a man on the moon almost 40 years ago, yet there is no cure for molluscum...

On December 6, 2006 I was diagnosed with Molluscum. Since initial diagnosis, I have gone to a Dermatologist weekly (it is February 18, 2007). My last molluscum to date was frozen off on January 2, 2007. I read some pretty scary things on internet forums about molluscum and I am posting this to let people know my story, method of treatment, and lifestyle changes. I do not work for any company to promote products/drugs. Also, I'm available to talk off-line if anyone has further questions (just post back with an email address or contact info). Honestly, I was really scared when I was first diagnosed. I was fortunate to talk to someone who had it that got over it and that experience really helped my state of mind.
On December 6 I was diagnosed with Molluscum. I had over 40 bumps (stopped counting after 40) on my pubic region. I got all of the bumps frozen on on December 6 and picked up a prescription of Aldara. I used the Aldara daily. I also ordered Zymaderm on the internet (I was skeptical about the product-but was freaking out and willing to try anything). The next week I had about 10 more bumps and got them frozen off. I continued to use the Aldara-which irritated my skin/did its job. I went back to the doctor the following week and he froze off about 10 new bumps. After that visit with the Doctor, everything seemed to come together. My zymaderm came in the mail, I started taking vitamin c, flax seed oil and zink supplements, I ate extremely healthy (no alcohol) and I started praying to God for help. I applied the Zymaderm three to four times a day (much more then the daily recommmended usage) and then covered the molluscum with tape after applying the zymaderm. I couldn't believe it, but the Zymderm really worked. The molluscum would shrink and dry up and then disappear without a mark (it was pretty crazy). Additionally, covering the molluscum with tape after applying the zymaderm made the process go even faster. On January 2, 2007 I went to the Dermtologist. He saw only 2 molluscum (that he told me were on the way out) and I had him freeze them. He also told me to stop using the Aldara as my skin was extremely irritated (it looked really red and almost like a big wound). He was very positive about my condition and told me that he thought that I was done with molluscum. Once I went off the Aldara, my skin started to heal. However, that meant the irritated skin flaked off and new skin grew underneath. This was somewhat painful. But I was happy that no new molluscum were showing up. I think that the Zymaderm, Aldara, change of diet, addition of supplements, frequent trips to the doctor to catch new ones immediately, and help from God is what cleared the molluscum. I am not positive that this is over, but so far so good. I'll post an update if anything changes. |

So far so good, I would like to talk to you more about your exact treatment plan and how long it took to be free from the mc. My 9 year old has a REALLY bad case and I am taking her to the derm in a week to try the freezing. My 18 month old has them coming also and I just found one on her face. I was mainly wondering if you think the Zymaderm would have worked effectivly with out the freezing or the aldara. Or was it wall three that did it. I haven't found any on myself so far and I am praying. I am a massage therapist and would have to stop working if I contracted it for the safety of my clients! Please Help!

You can try Zymaderm, available via amazon. I got to tell you, my then 2 year old daugther got in on the inside of her upper arm (in 2005). It had spread to about 30 lesions (over about 6 months) before we tried the Zymaderm. We used it religously twice a day and in 2 weeks there was a marked reduction. In 1 month, you couldn't even tell that she had ever had it...no scarring. I was very impressed (not one to try homeopathic solutions, in general). Good luck.

My son had this when he was about 7 yrs old and it wasn't from sex I assure you . He had them all over his fanny . I don't remember what they are exactly , but he went to the dermatologist a couple times and had them FROZE and that was all there was to it . Apparently it is common and nothing to worry about . He is 26 and it never came back .But to the people who think it is from sex .....there would be NO diseases if we were only with one person AFTER marriage . Right ??

I have had molluscum since August 07 and it's now April 08. At first I thought it was some kind of acne or weird pimples but they would not respond to any acne treatment that I used. Finally a few weeks ago I went to the Dermatologist and was told that this is what I have. I should have gone to the doctor LOOONG ago before this stuff spread but I didn't know it was a skin virus, contagious at that. I have no idea where I got it which is the crazy part. I'm not sexually active, and everyone I have been around has no sign of this. I have been using a treatment for about two weeks which helped the bigger bumps but the small ones just sit there and don't respond. I ordered Zymaderm yesterday and I'm praying and believing God that this will work. I'll post my results in a few weeks. God Bless!! We will all get through this!

I first noticed a tiny flesh colored bump on my foreskin like 5 months ago. I had no idea what it was and then i saw 2 more. I didnt care because htey didnt bother me. Then I noticed some little red bump in my pubes so i popped it and somthing came out of it. I freaked out and instantly went to the doctor. He gave me Retin A micro. Didnt do a single thing accept mess up my skin. I then got really pissed and put iodine on my skin and burned it. I didnt care. In 3 days the skin peeled and so did half the little bumps. I then got tea tree oil and i got a few of them frozen. I am trying Zymaderm now, on my second day. Im praying to god this works. This Virus is worse then anything in the world. Nothing compares to this other then HIV. Herpes is 100000 times better. That flares up very rarely and hurts for a little and goes away. This shit just keeps comming and comming. I am so pissed of about this. All doctors are bullshit as well. they dont know crap and about anyhting.

Also i dont think it matters if you go to the doctor or not. Get them frozen or not. They will keep comming until the virus runs its course. By the general look of things 2 years.

MAy doctor wants to let me use Aldara...I have read the most horrific stories about this creme and am am very scared to use it. Although my spots are SO TINY that i wouldnt need to put to much aldara creme on them.Anyone here used Aldara and think it works?

I have had this crap for about 6 months now. At first I was taking the doctor's advice of waiting it out but in the last couple weeks it really started to flare up and spread so I decided to take action.
I just applied the tea tree oil to it for the first time. I was told that the tea tree oil was very strong and would cause irritation in the skin but I didn't feel anything. Is that normal? Has anybody had luck just using tea tree oil? |
||||

This tea tree oil is a bunch of Bullsh!t like everythng else. I have used tea tree oil, Iodine, Zymaderm and it doesnt do anyhting. It all matters on your immune system and how it hold the virus back. The only noticable time i saw a change was when i just put a ton of iodine on my skin and burned it. After 3 days it peeled off and the bumps were about 70% smaller in size and barely visible.

I started using the Aldara about two weeks ago. The spots that I have put it on do seems to be shrinking. Molluscum is a virus and until your body builds an immunity it will keep coming back. The aldara is supposed to basically kick start your own immune system to attack the virus. So if you have a weak immune system then it will take longer especially if you are or get sick from things like colds or flu. As far as the side effects. I got molluscum from wrestling so its on my arms and chest. On my arms there was no harsh reaction at all. On my chest ,however, it is basically like having a really bad sunburn without all the peeling. So as far as the aldara goes if your putting it on a sensitive area be careful ow much you put on and how long you leave it on. And only put it on a lesion. Don't spread it all around unaffected skin. Thats the mistake I made on my chest. |

How long did Aldara take before it started working? It seems to work only on the bigger redder molluscum, but the tiny ones that come out of nowhere they seem to be not effected by aldara, the doctor did say that aldars doesnt work for everyone. I have 12 packets of aldara i have used 7 but with no results except for bigger molluscum but the numereous small ones are spreading
Any help or info or support appreciated |

My doctor gave me the news of molluscum back in February. I was shocked and to this day have no idea where i got it. My question is to anyone that has gone through this and got rid of this thing.(and please no advertising. I think that praying on the desperate is the lowest form of advertising there is). I keep getting new ones although it looks like the old ones do dry up and go away with help from aldera and freezing. Are there any signs that the body is finally fighting this virus? How long did you have it for before you were completely rid of it? Its been 5 months and i went in with 15 spots and now i have over 60.

I went to my OBGYN after finding to raised pimples on my thighs I knew it was something but the doctors get saying it was Fulliculitis. Finally someone checked it for Molluscum I freaked out because she basically said my husband was cheating on me and him being in the military I believed it and almost got divorced. I went to the Dermatologist and she said that I could have touched something and if I touched that area I was done I got it. I asked her to check my back and my body because I thought it was spreading and she said no sign of it just Fulliculitis. I just got back from my OBGYN visit to check on the ones she used acid on and she burned 3 of the ones that she thinks it was .Now my question is who the Hell do you believe which Doctor? My dermatologist said to stop using the Aldara but I have 2 girls under 4 and I am freaking out. I cant get a straight answer.
