I have been without any sexual intercourse for more than a year (masturbation being the only sexual actitivy, although also causes inflammation, which normally I can relieve with some moisterizing cream), and yesterday I tried "to give it another go" (as both urologist and dermatologist told me "it" was perfect. Well, I had a good time, but I am paying for it today. There's one spot as though somebody put out a cigarette on it. Don't know what to do. Urulogist says it's fungus, dermatologist disagrees, but is not able to tell me what it is (says to use cortisone cream, so then I think "here we go again), yet another tells me it's because of the friction. I am really down because all of this. Until the point that I am not sure if I want to live a life without sexual intercourse. Have you been able to learn more about this? Any solution? Regards, its dermatitis of the penis....protopic worked for me....apple once a day....skin specialist prescribed it to me...improvment after 1 week...gone after 1 month

Everything seems to go away eventually except a couple of tiny hot spots, but any friction causes a return of widespread discomfort and inflammation. I've been through diagnoses of yeast, friction and psoriasis but don't have much faith in any of them -- nor in urologists, dermatologists or physicians in general. It's turned into a nightmare... Years ago, I had some luck with a 5 day course of oral meds (pills that are usuallly prescribed for severe vaginal yeast infections), but I haven't found another Dr willing to give me the Rx lately -- I also found that a cream produced by Equate called Vagicaine (generic Vagisil?) relieves the itch and most of the pain right away -- and makes me last looooong time (by numbing the penile skin?).

It's really hard to tell for sure if this is Psoriasis, I'm pretty sure but not totally as there seems to be a little bit of an infection inside the pee hole as well. I've been experiencing symptoms for about a year now. Currently trying Protopic although haven't seen any effect and actually I'm sensitive to everything, so I feel like it may be making it worse. I'm 33 and and it's been said that the genital psoraisis condition generally effects people in their 40's and 50's, so I'm wondering if psoriasis is the problem. I'm so confused, can't afford to see a doctor, I have in the past and was brushed off due to having "no idea" when it wasn't as much of an issue. I have very little confidence in finding a competant doctor that will be able to solve my problem. I've spent countless hours searching and trying to diagnose and haven't had much luck, most doctors will probably know less than me on this specific issue. The one thing they can do is take a culture, which may identify or disprove possible problems.
I wonder if I'm treating the proper illness. I tried to look for possible std's for a long time and could find none that looked similar to what I'm experiencing. The psoriasis looks like it but the canal redness makes me wonder... Maybe it's a combination of problems?

I have had this exact problem I keep reading about since I began masturbating about 10 years ago. It's really been off-and-on, usually my penis is sore-free but when I do get a sore it seems to take forever to heal. I've noticed it happens much less if I'm using a mild lubricant during sex/masturbation(water based, or hypoallergenic lube). I've got a sore now that has persisted for the past six months or so. I'm worried it is gonna leave a scar. I've tried band aids but OUCH bad idea! I've tried neosporin, vitamin E, tea tree oil. I haven't had sex in almost six months cuz I don't want it to get worse/I'm embarrassed by it. When I do jack off I have stopped touching that area on the shaft at all. With all this effort it's still there, and I've had enough. I'm going to the doc to get some protopic ointment and I'll let ya'll know how it goes
