I have had an ongoing problem for the past couple of months, have been to the doctor twice with no resolution, and have another appt. scheduled in a couple weeks.
I've been going through a divorce. Back in Oct. I slept with the first woman since my wife. ABout 3 days later I was jerking off and developed these red sores on my penis, kindof like road rash.
Naturally, my immediate thought was herpes or some other STD. I had no other symptoms; no discharge, no cloudy urine, no warts, no blisters. Just general inflamation with road rash like sores after friction (e.g. masturbation).
THe Dr. found no evidence of herpes and prescribed me Diflucan (the yeast infection medicine) and said if i didn't notice a diference, to come back.
I immediately noticed a difference and within 3 days it was nearly back to normal. I took this for two weeks and was 75% back to normal. But it came back...with sores appearing after I masturbated.
Again concerned, I went in for a full suite of STD testing and came up negative on everything. I was prescribed some heavy duty cortisone cream and sent on my way with a friendly "take it easy down there".
I used the cream and "took it easy" or a couple weeks. The sores would clear up and my penis would return to looking normal...with the exception that the upper third and the glans was always somewhat warm to the touch and inflammed. The rim of the head was more sensitve than usual and felt like tiny pin pricks when touching.
It remained this way. When I masturbate the uper third gets very inflammed and sore and hot to the touch. THe head looks as if its sunburnt and feels like the tiny pin pricks when touching.
So I dont know what it could be...Ive searched on line and found that balanitis and psoriasis in the penis are sometimes brought on by yeast infections.
I've also been incredibly stressed and depressed dealing with the divorce and have been drinking alot. Each of which are said to contribute to skin conditions. I've also developed patches of psoriasis on my knee and both elbows. The knee patch first appeared about the same time I began having the problems.
Nothing has worked to actually cure it (i can clear any soreness..but its brought back upon any activity).
I am going to see the doctor in two weeks and planning to get a referral to a dermatologist or urologist. I have stopped drinking and ben focusing on my diet trying to help...and while I can get it nearly all cleared..there always seems t be something lurking beneath the skin that infames it when irritated.
Any thoughts? ideas? help?

I have the same problem. It's driving my nuts. Anti-fungus cream does help, so does any cream that contains cortisona, but they all seem like temporary solutions.

I have been without any sexual intercourse for more than a year (masturbation being the only sexual actitivy, although also causes inflammation, which normally I can relieve with some moisterizing cream), and yesterday I tried "to give it another go" (as both urologist and dermatologist told me "it" was perfect.

Well, I had a good time, but I am paying for it today. There's one spot as though somebody put out a cigarette on it. Don't know what to do. Urulogist says it's fungus, dermatologist disagrees, but is not able to tell me what it is (says to use cortisone cream, so then I think "here we go again), yet another tells me it's because of the friction.

I am really down because all of this. Until the point that I am not sure if I want to live a life without sexual intercourse.

Have you been able to learn more about this? Any solution?

Regards,
any

Any body figure this out? I have exactly the same symptoms. Neg STD panel, derm says I'm fine. Going to see urology next. I have also started getting headaches after about six months with genital symptoms. Prickly feeling is starting to migrate to scrotum now.

Most likely is psoriasis.starts there after candida infection or yeast.Best cream for this is called Protopic ,but you have to apply twice a day for 1 month then stop and use vaseline for week.Good diet no alkohol may help a little.Psoriasis does not go away completly, it get better for few days and then comes back.I search google 10000 times, no cure exists so far.I will keep looking.

Yes, I have got the same problem and I have had psoriasis for years now. I started getting this sore on my knob and canestan or Daktarin makes it go away but then it returns after a few months especially after masturbation or sex. It stings a bit when I pee for the first few days as it arrives then the stinging stops after 1-2 days. My foreskins aslo swells up a bit during the treatment with canestan. My pharmasist advised that it's a fungal infection which has a deep root and that I have to apply the canestan cream for 2 weeks after I think it has gone. I have done this but it still returns.
If anyone has found a cure - please POST!!

I got the same problem. My Dermatologist prescribe Zalain, one of the more potent anti-fungal cream to be applied in the evening after shower and Protopic to be applied morning and night. Condition is back to normal but I think I would be on this medication for 1 month.

ok .I got some relief.Go to your doctor and ge a priscription for Protopic ointment 01%.Apply for 1 montg twice daily.Stop and aplly 3 times a week once daily for 2 weeks. Then just use vaseline to keep it grease. This will stop the itch , some areas will claer for good. Some areas will look better but not totally gone.Yoy will notice change after 2 weeks.
Don`t read about this med cousing cancer , people using on their faces for years.Don`t suffer mentally anymore.I have been there, trust me.If this does not wqrk try dovonex cream/vid d/ for 2 or 3 weeks twice a day , it works for some people. If this does not work try alcortin a cream for 2 weeks. This is the only treatment for psoriasis in that area. Please google aricle about psoriasia by Barry Goldman md dermatologist from new York.It helped me a lot

I am able to compound a very effective anti-oxidant, intensive moisture base cream that can be applied externally.
If there is some interest please post here and ill make more information available.
My patients are finding it very useful - no prescription required as its all natural.
Its about $12 for a sample size. If its effective on you $50 or so will ease your symptoms big time.

I have this same thing. It came on after one episode of masturbation and then two episodes of vigorous sex over the next two days. I've been through ketoconazole, protopic, cloderm, desonide and nystatin. Everything seems to go away eventually except a couple of tiny hot spots, but any friction causes a return of widespread discomfort and inflammation. I've been through diagnoses of yeast, friction and psoriasis but don't have much faith in any of them -- nor in urologists, dermatologists or physicians in general. It's turned into a nightmare. Even worse, I'm engaged and can't have sex with my fiance. Let's hope someone out there comes up with an answer.

For a person that has the same symptoms, and to read these threads over and over again. I have used Nystatin, Cortisone, and others, and now The AntiFungal Cream trachlormazole (sp). Nothing like getting a skin scraping on your sore penis. I cant believe that there are so many people having the same problem and can't get a good diagnosis. Dr. that gave me the AntiFungal, saw on my record that I had psoriasis, couldnt remember when, but think it was for my hair and dandruff and had to use TGEL shampoo. I hate knowing that I cant just use that Penis anytime I want. I HATE it.
