I have this rash around my nose as well. It's not really itchy, just flaky & red. It's so ugly and it's frustrating because I've tried every cream I have and I've even been to the DR's and nothing has worked. I do know that I have dry skin, but I can usually keep it under control. Not this stupid spot around my nose though! It's been 5 months now. It started on the right side of my nose and slowly migrated to below my nose and now its just on the left side. I really wish it would just go away!

I hate to say it, but misery loves company. I thought I was the only one to have the dry, flaky skin around my nose. Takes about 15 minutes every day before work to scratch it off, then the crease of my nose is red and sore. The doctor I went to dismissed it as rosacea (sp). I guess if they don't have the problem, they don't care as much. If anyone has the answer to get rid of this... help!!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for help. Yes I know what you mean with your friend..Í am sorry to hear that. I think you can't rely on people and the word is sometimes very difficult and you need lots of knowlegde.. So going to a hosptital is a good thing besides those people. I believe God always heal but there are many things which can block it. Hosea 3:6
Curry blake and andrew womack ministries tell many things about this subject. But I can imagine how you feel about your friend..

The Kirk soap is used PM?

Hi Kylie,

thanks.. you mention that that are still some scales left after the 2 day.. how long does it take when you don't see nothing anymore when you don't remove the small scales by yourself? And how long will it take bedore they come back.. Do you remember that?
thanks!

I got a cream made up at the chemist as my mother suffered from this and got this ointment as a solution (from a dermatologist). I have used it on and off through my life as it comes and goes (last event 5 years ago). Here are the ingredients, little sting when applied, but gets rid of it when it appears...
3% Salicyclic Acid
3% Sulphur
in Aqueous cream 100g
Good luck, let me know how you go :).

I have the same problem, and it runs in my family. I don't get it between my eyebrows tho, only in. My uncle and dad get in in and around the ears, but I don't really. Just in my eyebrows, in my hair, and on both sides of my nose. Psoriasis is what my uncles and father have, so I figure it's what I have as well. Just another idea of what it might be. I've been using face scrub and lotion every morning to get rid of it, and it seems to do it's job pretty well. Until the next morning that is.

Hi Joel,I use the Kirk's soap during morning shower. I just like the kirk's soap. It is the ACV that works for me.

Treatment! I visted this page a few days ago looking for answers to this crazy embarrassing problem. Dry, scaly, red, irritated skin around my nose, under my lip and between my eye brows. I was looking around in the medicine cabinet in hopes of finding something that may help. Only think I found, aside from rubbing alcohol (which burned really bad when applyed) was athlete's foot cream! I read the back of the tube and gave it a shot. I applied a small amount on eather side of my nose, and the other mentioned area's just before bed LAST NIGHT. I just woke up to find the redness is gone the flakey skin is gone for the most part. So if your looking for a quick over night fix try ATHLETE'S FOOT CREAM! IT WORKED FOR ME!!

hi guys,
i've had this condition for over 5 years and have spent alot of time and money trying to find anything that helps. After various topical steriod creams from the docs(which thinned my skin and made things worse after a month or so)and even going to homeopathic doctors(which gave me sulphur tablets)the only things that work for me are :
Aqueous cream-keeps the skin v moisturised and can be bought in big tubs from boots for cheap.the only thing is it can be a bit greasy and the skin does still stay slightly red.
T-gel shampoo-I use this at night before bed-leave in hair for 4 minutes then wash round my nose with the foam(not the gel as this can irritate an dry it out)
Aveeno Moisturing cream:use this after the showering with the T-Gel it absorbs quite easily and has natural ingredients.
using these three has cleared it up nicely and i would recommend anyone with this condition to try these.
Hi Guys, thanks for everyone posting here to try and help with this issue. Been suffering for 12 years, still no solution. Tried hard for the first 6 months trying lots of new stuff. The shampoo's and alcohol just seemed to make it worst and just end up going back to using regular soap and moisturisers. This helps but it never clears up.
Would be interested to hear from Pete again as he suffered for a long period before finding somthing that works. Break down further his exact daily regime.

If you live in Canada try Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo(didn't see it on shelves in the states) Simply put some in the palm of your hand and rub it into the dry red areas while in the shower and then wash your hair afterward and leave it on for a few minutes.I've had this problem for years and this really helped...couple of times a week keeps it under control for me..obviously some sort of fungal thing. The fact that doctors and dermatologists don't have a clue just goes to show how much those people actually know about anything.

Mason and Kitty,
Many people on this thread use Head and Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo pretty much the same way with the same results.
I've discovered that Alcohol based Hand Sanitizer works just as well, out it on, leave it on.
Super cheap, the dollar store stuff works just fine.
I've talked about it here for the past 9 months or so, since I discovered it, and my condition is still under control.
Check it out !!
Best of luck and keep us posted !!

Do you clean your face with baby wipes? That happened to me I wouldclean myface off with them and my eyes would react like you described. All i did was stop using the wipes , but it still took like a week for it to go away.
Or maybe you have developed allergies. They come and go at anytime.

Mine started in October. It is only on my eyes. I thought it was from using cheap makeup but I stopped putting anything on my eyes and it's the same and sometimes worse. My left eye is worse with red, dry, flaky and inflamed skin under the eye and on the eyelid. What can I do? I have no idea and I can't afford to go to the doctor to find out what it is.

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
