I had a lump on my groin where my leg meets my privates and it got really big within 4 days. Im 17 years old and sexually active so it proper freaked me out. It was really hard to walk for two days and it was really difficult to walk and sitting was a task. I had like 2 baths everyday and the day before the doctors (yesterday)i was in the bath and there was pussy blood coming out so that freaked out even more and finally went to the doctors. They said it was an in grown hair and its due to shaving. The nurse said to not shave upwards. also if you have a history of diabetes then you should go to the doctors and get a blood test as 'boil' could be as a result of your body not processing the sugar. they also take a swab of the puss just to be sure. So its the day of the doctors and im feeling much better, i can sit with only a little difficulty and i can walk perfectly. You also have to wash it twice a day with warm salty water just so the puss is cleared and they should prescribe you with antibiotics which you take 4 times a day. I hope this helps anyone that might have a simular thing. : )

Please look into cellulitis. I have had these sores since I was 13 years old and a virgin. So finally when I was 23 I was prego n the doc diag. it as cellulitis. There is no real cure. Use an antibactirial soap w no scent. The bar is normally yellow. And do not shave. The bumps will leave scaring in the skin as well. Good luck n I hope this helps. It could be worse. A lot of people have these bumps under arms, face cheast.

I have the same issue and am experiencing my 3rd one now. I am tarted to get really annoyed about the situation because I just experienced a lump 2 months ago and now it's back again. Mine is a little different though because each time it has appeared in the exact same spot.
when i went to the doctor last she told me is was a bacterial infection under the skin that had caused a cyst to form that contained fluid. she prescribed me and antibiotic pill and ointment. The combination of these made the cyst go away within 2 weeks. But I worried that it might be ore serious since it is already back.

Thank you for the link to the hidradenitis suppurativa information. I'm almost 30 and I've been suffering (emptionally and physically) from this unknown condition since I hit puberty at the age of 12. I thought I was the only one who went thru this. I cannot even begin to tell you how many professioanl doctors and estheticians I've seen who have nothing more to offer me other than unhelpful comments on what things look like down there. While this is a condition that I've accepted as being lifelong, I have found ways of avoiding the painful breakouts from recurring and that is to keep the area as dry as possible. As a kid I would run around in wet bathing suits, or sweaty workout clothes for hours after getting out of the pool or playing on my sports teams/working out. This inevitably caused the painful sores to appear, which left untreated (ie by continued use of the wrong type of clothing, not keeping the area dry, or fussing with it, etc) would only cause the lumps to enlarge and eventually burst into painful sores. I'm not the type of person to jump straight to the doctor for things like this, especially if it involves any additional things that might cause more pain since this will inevitably come back again. So my only advice for fellow sufferers is to educate yourselves on what this condition is so that you don't have to feel alone, so that you can have a name for this "issue" and do as much as you can to prevent a reoccurrence (for me staying dry) so as to minimize the number of times you have to suffer through this. Hope this helps someone.

Im 19 and it sounds like I have the same thing but in a slightly different place. My lump is just to the left and above my lady parts. Uts extremely sore whether accidently caught or just sitting. Well actually doing anything makes it hurt. I am hoping it will just go away as only been there 3 days but if not might have to go to the nurse although this would be a last resort as I hate doctors abd nurses. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have read your comments above and I notice that most of you are rather young. However, I myself, am 35 years old. I began having similar issues around the time I was 23 and it has continued over the years. I have been to doctor after doctor and no one can tell me what it is or what's causing it. The best answer that I have gotten so far is that it is due to the HPV virus that I was diagnosed with when my first son was born(8 years ago.) However, other answers have been it's a form of staph infection, or a possible herpes infection. I do not have herpes, so this doesn't make sense to me. I get the lumps on the insides of my thighs, in the crease of my legs, and around the vaginal area. Sometimes, they just remain small bb size lumps that only hurt if pressed on. Other times, they swell to the size of walnuts and are extremely painful, especially when walking and such. Sometimes they eventually drain on their own and go away, while other times I have to force the drain to relieve the pressure and pain, to just move. Regardless of how it drains, it leaves scars and craterlike divets in my flesh. It isn't pretty, and is almost always a purplish shade. The small ones that are like bbs never go away... and all of the discoloring and scars looks really bad. I have found that heat compresses, hot water bottles, and long soaks in a hot tub do help sometimes. I have even used alcohol, peroxide and epsom salt to treat the areas, sometimes helps. However, nothing makes it go away forever, it will always come back. Maybe not the exact same spot, but, it will keep coming back for whatever reason. I have been dealing with this for 12 years now. I need someone to tell me what causes it, and how to fix it and hopefully keep it away. Just today, after 3 days of suffering, I was finally able to drain a very large one on the right side of vagina only to discover that there are already two more growing. Please, this problem is driving me crazy, if anyone can help, I'd really be grateful. Thank you.

I'm 14 and I have the same thing. I just found it and was shocked at first but now that I see it's not completely uncommon, I feel better.

Mine's right in my panty line on the left side where my leg and pubic area meet. Mine is sensitive and the size of maybe a pea. It has a very discreet 'head' and a very small white head on top.

I'm going to ask my mom about it and talk to my dermatologist to see what's up.

If anyone could help me until I get this checked out that would be wonderful. I'm only 14 so as you can imagine, I'm worried.

I think what I have, which sounds like most, is just a cyst. Gonna dab some tea tree oil on it 'till I get to a doctor. Also ladies, make sure that your undies are washed on unscented detergent. The scents are very bad for your skin especially when there is something like this.

Hi,
I'm a 22 year old woman that has a tender swollen lump near my groin area (where my leg meets my genitals).
When I was 13 I had the same thing on same place except on my right side, it was the size of a pea that eventually grew into the size of a walnut. It was never painful until 3 years ago, it became infected (I found out later by an ingrown pubic hair). It has swollen up to the size of an egg and was painful to walk. I went to a Dermatologist and he surgically removed it, I forgot what he called it though. After researching, it has many charateristics of a sebaceous cyst but has never leaked or oozed fluid or pus. It doesn’t even seem to have a ‘head’ on it.
Since then it's been 3 years and I've noticed an occasional small one every 4-5 months but currently I have one that seems to be doing the same thing as 3 years ago... it's taken about 2 months to grow to the size of a walnut. I'm not touching or squeezing it, mainly b/c it hurts, and I think that that's the reason it got bad last time. I really don't want to have it removed like last because the last time it left a horrible scar and I don't want a matching one on the other side. BUT I will if it is necessary. I guess that is my main question. Last night, I put a really hot rag on it for a few minutes because I read that heat would help with the swelling. Will this go away on its own, without surgery?
AND if it is infected would Doxycycline be a good antibiotic in order to cure the infection?(Currently I do not have insurance and I have a prescription for Dozycycline that my doctor gave me a month ago for my acne).
Basically my questions are:
• What is this?
• Will it go away without surgery?
• If infected, will Doxycycline cure the infection?
• How can I prevent another one from popping up?(I thought that it might be caused by me shaving my bikini area frequently and have course ingrown hair)
I hope someone can help me. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I realize there are many similar cases like mine with questions but not as many answers.
Thank you in advance!
KK
I just felt one today on my right side at the crease where my leg and groin meet about the size of a grape. My best friend had one on the exact same place about 10 years ago and it was cancer. She had to do the whole chemo and all. I'm so scared. She told me to make a doctors appt IMMEDIATELY. She waited too long thinking it was just a hair bump and it would go away. She was wrong. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. SO DON'T WAIT LADIES!!!!!

Okay, i'm 13 and i've notice something similar to what i'm reading. I have this inflamed lump on my left side, right about where my leg joins my pelvis. It's pretty red and the size of a walnut. At first i had no idea what it was so i tried pressing it to see if maybe it needed to be popped. There's no whitehead on it. It hurts if i lean to my left when i'm sitting or walking. I really don't want to have to go to a doctor, and i haven't asked my mom about it yet. I've tried putting acne medicine and antibiotic cream on it but it's not helping. Cold compress didn't really help either. Advice would be great.

Hey everyone!

I had a problem with a lump in my right groin area. It didn't have a head on it and I never tried popping it. It was sore to touch and sometimes it would hurt to use my groin muscles. I went to my doctor who told me it was an inflamed lymph node caused by shaving with a dirty razor. Sometimes razors get dirty without people noticing because they don't always necessarily look dirty. Lymph nodes can also become inflamed under the arm pit and in the neck area from shaving. My doctor wrote out a prescription for me to get some antibiotics. I took them and the inflammation disappeared within a day or so. I haven't had problems since and this was about 5 years ago.

Hope this helps!

Hi ya, Im 23 years old. I found a lump just inside my vaginal area, not that big but very painful. it looks like its about to bursts. I dont really want that cause it will make it more painful. I just recently found like another 5 more under neath starting to grow into the same thing. Its getting more painful to walk, sit or go toilet. It wasnt as painful before or much of a worry because of the other ones under neath that are growing Im starting to be concerned.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I was a little worried at first because when I looked up "bumps on groin" all I got was stuff about genital warts and none of the pictures look like this. I keep putting vitamin A & E ointment on it and it seems to be working a little. If it doesn't clear up here soon I'm going to the doctor. I've had something similar before down there and it's went away, I've also had a cyst under my arm pit. I'm also only 17 years old and I have a lot ahead of me in my future. Just saying, when in doubt, go see a doctor.
