Unfortunately they were burning Chiropractors in Ohio for this exact thing. Typically the patient ends up getting burnt as well by the practitioners billing department after the promise made by this type of company. Everyone loses.(Except the insurance companies and the rental service.)

Young doctors stay clear of this. I personally know of those Docs who got burnt and then the wedge driven between doctor and patient.

I agree with doc4bax; stand clear, there are safer ways to make an income.

I can't speak for Lakeside Diagnostics but NCV testing is a needed and many times vital diagnostic procedure that most physicians (whether MD, DO or DC) do not have the skill to analyse much less perform. A third party organization can be an invaluable resourse for those physicians much like outsourcing imaging or lab procedures.
Of course, many MDs like to complain that this impinges on their scope of practice but that really just comes back to who's making the money...

Dr. E is correct about NCV testing especially in diagnosing entrapment syndromes in peripheral neuropathies. As far as the other MD saying to steer clear of companies like these, he may have a point unless the company in question has a Medicare license in the state where testing in preformed and does the billing and collecting themselves. MD's are compensated for "Direct Supervision" much like an Echo-Cardiogram" test/model. No kickbacks, makes sure the company has an "Letter of Medical Opinion" from a Certified Healthcare Attorney", if they do then you're ok.

As chiropractors are experiencing sharp declines in income. Many resort to these kick-back scams.

It is not a problem if the doctor is only allowing the use of the facility and nothing more. A patient is referred to a doctor who does NCV/EMG testing and for the patients convenience, the doctor does the test in your office.

There is no kick back here. I have found a psychologist who will come to my clinic to see my patients who I have referred for psych evaluation. It is no different. I bill for nothing, I simply allow the doctor to use an empty office or treatment room.

The feds can watch all they want, there is no kick back or wrong doing.

If it is a spinal condition, the neurologist won't even see the patient unless they are allowed to do the nerve testing. And it is interesting that every single one they see had an NCV/EMG recommended by the neurologist.

Best to get the nerve testing done if medically necessary and then refer to an ortho.

I have never heard a chiropractor say he can CURE pancreatic dysfunction. I have seen countless individuals present with a variety of conditions such as Lower Back Pain, Migraine Head Aches, Neck Pain, Sciatica, TMJ disorders, Arm Pain, etc. These are just a few of the conditions that the majority of the chiropractic profession successfully treats on a daily basis.

I find it hard to believe anyone would spend so much time and energy disseminating mis-information for personal reasons?
