This does not make sense. having adopted dogs from shelters when you go in you would not know if you were having a reaction to the dog or other dogs in the air. who did this article. Wash the do and bring it home or why not get a fish tank. seriously if she is that allergic to dogs

Now that I got my morning clever remark out of my system - I pity that little girl for her illness. I have had 5 dogs in the last 38 years and three of them came from shelters. The present one is a 5 1/2 year old black lab and we have our third anniversary coming up in a few weeks.

Why not an adult shelter or rescue dog? There are plenty of adult dogs needing homes, too -- and that solves the "what kind of hair will my goldendoodle have as an adult" problem.

A Breed rescue group is a great alternative to a shelter.

There are plenty of purebreds in shelters! As more people foreclose on their homes, the number of pets given up has skyrocketed and this includes purebreds! PLEASE DON'T SUPPORT MORE PUPPIES BEING BORN INTO MILLS OR BACKYARD BREEDERS!!!!

Hey, Trib. Let me know when you start covering REAL news. Noise like this only clutters up the stories regarding much greater responsibilities that YOUR endorsed presidential candidate faces upon his first day on the job.

Oh I don't know - after all the hard core news of the past months - this is kind of welcome relief for dog lovers out there. Why did you read it and comment if you were not interested?(laughingoutloud)

This is b.s. I mean I'm sorry and I wish this guy well in the White House, however they shouldn't have a dog. Dogs jump, poop, eat, bark, shead, etc, etc...They're are dogs so that is what they do. Maybe these folks should just pass if one of their children will react..From a real West Loop Wacko and extreme Dog Lover!!

I was severely allergic to dogs as a child. I loved them so much I hounded my parents for years and they finally gave in. A German Shephard mutt named Peppe. Adjusted just fine. When I was married I had 4 dogs and 4 dogs and was just fine. In fact, the only thing that triggers my allergies now is Chicago. They completely vanished for the decades I lived in California. My first year back in Chicago they resurfaced with a venengence and have stayed ever since. Must be the pollution.

Should we stop making babies too? There are plenty of children available for adoption.

Mind your own backyard.

Is this really still a headline story? Between the softball journalism, Obama's aids leaking his conversation with the President, and the "Office of the President-Elect" seal, I feel like it's amateur hour in the Obamessiah camp.

With all of the attention this is getting, you'd better believe that rescue groups all over America are tripping over each other to find the right dog for the Obamas. I'll bet that somewhere there is a poodle-mix puppy mill being shut down & its little residents being placed for adoption. One of them will end up in the White House!

This is all a ruse.

Most Muslims don't keep pets; they feel they don't belong in the home and are filthy.

But he felt pressured to get one, as most all presidents do.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
