Surprising fact: Half of gun deaths are suicides

So, let's see now,,,,,,, I'm supposed to relinquish my Second Amendment rights because if I don't someone may commit suicide? If the anti-gun rights community is really concerned they would stop spending their resources on trying to take my rights away and re-direct their funds to counseling programs for people who are at risk. Just for kicks let's see how many people are willing to scrap the First Amendement so that Assisted Suicide groups can't spread information in the form of "How To" guides. I thought so,,, not many takers out there.

This is why there are laws prohibiting mentally ill people from owning guns, thereby hindering many veterans who need help with service related problems. The whole conundrum needs public attention and education.

The second amendment is important to me, although I do not own a gun. If I ever feel I need one, I am able to legally own one and I will get safety training and shooting training if I do.

I have and do know people that own guns. All of those I know take gun ownership seriously, and have been trained.

There is no relationship between the number of guns and suicides. The number of guns has been increasing over the years, while the number of suicides has remained flat. See link.

For more evidence that guns do not cause suicide, consider Japan. Guns are virtually nonexistent and they have a higher suicide rate than the US.

First of all, the above quote does not even say that the suicides are committed using those guns! For all we know, the research found that suicides take places in homes that have guns, but are committed using drug overdoses! Correlation does not demonstrate causation, but that's exactly what is implied by this article.

I'll bet that in addition to having guns, those people had two nostrils! OMG, it's dangerous to have two nostrils--possession of two nostrils is linked to 100% of all suicides!

If you think that 300,000,000 guns held by 80,000,000 private citizens would be no good against an military made up of about 1.5 million people, you are the ape.

Can 1.5 million military members live, eat, bathe and sleep inside C-130s and tanks? Do they never have to emerge?
