Full story: Blackpool Today

It is hoped the move will protect children from the effects of smoking and discourage them from taking up the habit themselves.

let me get this straight. Blackpool, a dying northern holiday resort, thinks its a brilliant idea to alienate a proportion of its tourists (most of who probably smoke) by banning smoking in vast open areas (parks).

Well lets think about this..........how did banning smoking in pubs work out for the brewery industry ?????
OH YES IT DECIMATED IT !
Who's making these decisions, the blackpool donkeys ?

This has to be a Labour run council !

the biggest power you have is to ally with the motorists, who also get persecuted on a daily basis, and vote these cnuts OUT.
I am an ex smoker, but will uphold the right to smoke.
The next thing is you will need a licence to shag, if you are a hetero, but sodomites, no problem.Stick a dick where you like. In their case health and safety rules are negated, ever wonder why?

You have the right to go places where the owners don't peermit smoking. Just as you have the right, though not the ability, to remain silent.

You also have the right to put packaging and butts in a garbage can. Think you can manage that difficult task?

Is it too much to ask for, to treat people like adults?

There's a demand for non-smoking bars, and there's a demand for bars where smoking is permitted.

I'm very sure that nobody is going to be forced at gunpoint to drink or work in either one.

Its become part of Britain's democratic culture now, to govern by knee jerk reaction & political correctness, even if that leads to ludicrous laws, which it often does.
I was reprimanded last week, for having a cigarette on an open air rail platform, & advised i faced prosecution if i didnt put it out. Moments later, we were nearly all asphyixiated by diesel fumes as the train left the station.
When you smoke in the park, you are being insensitive to the Human Rights of the birds, squirrels, & tramps on benches, that have to breath in our pollution.
So i have a simple solution to this problem.
ALLOW SMOKING & BAN BREATHING. Problem solved.

As you can see from the negative 'judge it' icons on our posts, the opponents of choice in this matter, are not interested in listening to common sense.

Dont worry about it. These people feel far more comfortable with pictures & icons, than they do with long words & joined up writing. LOL. Eventually they will be allowed to come off their medication, & to join the real world in sensible debate. I suspect that if the internet had been around in years gone by, Jesus would probably have also been accused of being a troll , spam & off topic & nuts. So we are in good company .
