"There are way more important things we should be discussing," said former mayoral candidate Aaron Proctor, a smoker. "I don't need the council telling me what is good or bad for me, or the government telling businesses what to do."

That is why as an employee of an Old town restaurant I always refuse to wash my hands after visiting the bathroom. No bureaucrat is going to tell me or my boss what health codes should be. Next they'll try to force me to urinate only indoors!!

Great news. This will make the air on Colorado so much better. We'll probably even be able to see the mountains soon. However if it doesn't work we'll have to ban motor vehicles and barbeques. If that doesn't work we can just ban people. That should do it.

Quote-[Councilman Sid Tyler suggested the city follow the lead of A-rated Calabasas, which requires 80 percent of multifamily housing units to be smoke-free.
"Why couldn't we do something like that?" Tyler said. "An increasing amount of living in our city is taking place in multifamily housing. Why should those people be exempt?"]
I'll tell you why Councilman Tyler - It's called "freedom".
I suppose you and your fellow Pasadena officials know what's best for us ignorant plebes who can't defend ourselves against our neighbors or make our own peace. We really need another regulation to be happy.
I realize it's your job to legislate, but can't you leave our freedom alone? There is enough government oppression without another law limiting our freedom to make our own choices.
I don't smoke but I am not personally willing to take away the right of "those people" who do.

Maybe there should be an ordinance against hurting people's feelings. This what I get for caring about all our civil liberties.

Mr. Proctor, why do smokers think they have the right to blow smoke into other people's lungs?

It's quite CLEAR that if you are getting smoke blown into your lungs, you're too close to the smoker. Close enough to get a fist in your face.

Typical mindset of the anti-smoker, anti-drinker, anti-junkfood, anti-hunting, anti-anything crowd.

"I don't like it so no one anywhere should be doing it, whether I go there or not."

Let's eliminate everything you don't like and see how much you "love" paying more taxes.

That's nice to know. An employee of a restaurant refuses to wash his hands before preparing our food. Which restaurant do you work for?

In response to the smoking discussion,I think that smokers have the right to smoke wherever they wish as long as its not disturbing anyone else. I read a post from someone else who said if the smoke is bothering you, you are too close. Very well put. Incase you are wondering, I am not a smoker, never have been. It does not affect me. If someone is smoking close to me to the point where I think its jeopardizing my health, simply move a few feet away. Its not going to kill you. Society has way bigger fish to fry than our citizens who smoke. Get a life.

Smokers litter and start fires with their stupid butts. Ban smoking outdoors too, since smokers cannot act like civilized people.

Either that, or the smoker is too close to me...
