The autism / vaccine link myth has long since been debunked. There has been a number of major scientific studies on the subject to show that there is not any connection between autism and vaccines.
I also find it absolutely absurd for you to claim to be able to instinctively tell what caused your child's autism. Where is your evidence? I'm positive you do not have any, because if you could prove the cause, this whole business of vaccines contributing to autism would cease to be a controversy - science would have to recognize your (or anyone else's) proof. That is how science works.
I apologize for my harshness, but it angers me to see the promotion of an idea based on anecdotal evidence and pseudoscience.

Thimerosal was never proven to cause any disorder, and is not even in the vaccines any more.

George, do you just make things up, and then believe your fantasies as fact? Do you ever do any research on your own at all? With all due respect, you don't have a clue about vaccinations and what is in them. Get off those gov. websites! Haven't you learned yet that governments lie?

Judging by your posting name, I'm guessing you have little knowledge of how science works. No one is ever called upon to prove a negative. You cannot say, "Prove me wrong." If one is to bring a claim to the table, they are responsible for proving it to be true, not for others to prove it false. If I were to say that there was an invisible dragon living in my garage, I would assume (or at least hope) that you would make me prove it to you before you would agree with me. If I could not prove it, I still would not be able to say that you had to prove me wrong for the claim to be thrown out (and until then agree that "the jury is still out" or some such nonsense). The burden of proof always lies with the one who has made the initial claim.

What proof do you have that thimerosal is still in vaccines? Or that vaccines themselves are dangerous? Any real science or just youtube and Jenny McCarthy?

George - from a personal experience - last Nov, during my yearly physical I was offered a flu shot. I asked if they would look at the insert to see if timerisol [I think that's how it's spelled] was in it . Answer - yes.

You must ask specificly for a mercury free shot. And most clinics don't have them in stock. And then you have to believe you are getting the mercury free shot...

So, according to you, parents should put their own children in danger to protect you, an adult?

That's not proof of anything other that in rare cases people have adverse reactions to any vaccine. It is unfortunate but it does happen. You have to weigh the small risks involved in getting any vaccine with the risks of not getting it.

The opening of that video says it all, Fox News. If you want to believe that bs they put out go ahead. If you're smart you'll go beyond Fox news for your information.

Parents are putting their kids, themselves and everyone else at risk by not immunizing.

I'm truly sorry for this woman and her kids' lifelong struggle with autism. However, as has been stated, it doesn't add up:
-The link has never been substantiated.
-The fact that all 3 of her kids are autistic points to something other than vaccines, as we would expect to see a similar rate of illness in the general population, which we do not.

Now, why does she feel so convinced as to put herself out there as an advocate against vaccination? Just like with religion, people need reasons. I don't know why, I expect it is evolutionary and a huge contributor to our global domination and evolutional success. Always wanting to find answers, we have discovered the tools to allow us to rule the planet (and ultimately ruin it for all the other species).

But that is also our downfall. this intense need to understand often falls to a need to blame. We just have to know why we are here, who put us here, what is our purpose..we need to know so badly that when faced with the reality that there is no reason for our existence, no purposed, nobody "put" us here we reject that as an entire race and instead believe a made up explanation that also promises us never to die.

Same with this mother. Who did this to my kids? What caused it?(probably a little bit of "what did I do wrong").

Clearly there are likely environmental and biological factors, especially given the concentration in one family. However, it is delusional to look at something so many people get with no effects and think it caused the 100% rate of illness in your family.

but like I said it seems our brains our wired for delusional beliefs.

I wish this woman the best in luck, professional care and love in raising these kids which must be a struggle, but I can't stay silent when her grief is evoking such ridiculous beliefs.

I should have added it is irresponsible for those 40% of parents to refuse vaccines. They should not be allowed to put other kids in harms way through their poor decision making. People don't live in a vacuum. We live in a society and have to work together if we are to be succesful.

Logical fallacy, post hoc, ergo propter hoc - just because it occurred after the flu shot, it doesn't mean it occurred because of the flu shot. Originally they were claiming that Desiree's Dystonia was due to an abnormal reaction to the vaccine (it would have been the only case to-date). More recently they have diagnosed it to be psychogenic.
