Doesn't she mean Asian? I've been told by some of my friends that they much prefer "asian" to "oriental". "Asian", one said, "is a rug!"

But "Oriental" is a rug also, right? Or is that what you meant to write?
Perhaps "Oriental" could refer to ALL countries such as Japan, China, Korea, etc., while "Asian" would refer only to those from Asia... |
